Asterias Village

My husband and I have just returned from a wonderful week at this amazing hotel. Upon arrival, we were greeted by the owner of the Spar shop where we bought some nibbles. Whilst checking in, we were offered a refreshing glass of homemade lemonade. Our maisonette was spacious, very comfortable and had a view of the sea. The staff were very friendly and nothing was too much trouble. The loungers were very comfortable and it was all too easy to just sit back and read whilst listening to the music. There is plenty of choice at breakfast should you choose to go half board and the charming Olivia Restaurant for dinner though the food at the bar is also very tasty. Just down the road is a very lovely woman who owns and runs a tour and excursion company where you can book day trips. You decide where you would like to go and she will arrange it for you. Situated up in the hillside, you can organise a shuttle bus or book a taxi through reception to take you down into town.

We've just returned from a week at this resort and had a fabulous time. Staff are friendly and welcoming and rooms are clean and pleasant. Beds are very comfortable and there are basic tea/coffee facilities and a fridge in each room. Both the pool bar and restaurant are enjoyable. The pool area is clean with a great selection of loungers. There's even a tiny but beautiful chapel. We had two fabulous massages with Michael at the Nautilus Spa and had a lovely meal at the Olive restraurant. There are some steep steps up to the town but staff were great at assisting with bringing luggage up and down to the rooms. The town itself is beautiful with plenty of shops, taverns and restaurants. Would highly recommend!

Stayed here early September and had a wonderful stay. Room was really spacious, the balcony didn't get any sun but this was a welcome relief after a day around the pool. The shower was lovely and powerful. The pool area was stunning, the renovation makes it feel very luxurious, there was never a shortage of sunbeds no matter time we went to the pool and they were really comfy too - even the 'traditional' beds. Only slight negative was the slippy pool, although it did provide some entertainment watching people trying to style out their slips - myself included!! Food at the pool bar was always lovely, fresh and plenty of choice. We had a late flight home so we left our bags in reception and made use of the pool showers which were pretty good, could just do with a shelf to stop clean clothes getting wet! Hotel is ideally located between Koutouloufari and Piscopiano so perfect for exploring all the different tavernas and restaurants. We never ate in the same place twice in the evening and didn't have a single bad meal. Also - the guy in the shop across the road was brilliant!!

Michael at Nautilus Spa is excellent, very friendly and kind person who offers great treatments for excellent value for money. I am staying at the hotel for 1 week with my husband and baby and I had a massage today, I was so relaxed I rebooked for the day before I fly home and he offered some complimentary treatments which I am so looking forward to. A very relaxing way to make the most out of your holiday. He also offers 10 euro discount for hotel guests. Highly recommend!

Beautiful location away from the crowds. Staff are so helpful, friendly and will go out of there way for you. Breakfast is superb and plenty of it. We had a massage on site with the wonderful Micheal. He was so good I'm having another on the last day. It's located in a small village about 2km from the coast. Good public transport to the coast for free. Lot of great restaurants and small bars close by, most have great views to. Quiet and respectful atmosphere. If you come, find Micheal and book a massage. Highly recommend 😁

Absolutely loved our stay at Astarias Hotel! The staff were incredibly helpful at all times, going above and beyond to make our visit to Crete unforgettable. A special thank you to Konstantina and Milo, who were especially friendly, attentive, and made us feel right at home. The hotel itself was beautiful, spotless, and perfectly located. I would highly recommend Astarias to anyone planning a trip to Crete – you won’t be disappointed
