Crete is home to many truly excellent 5-star all-inclusive resorts—unfortunately, this is not one of them. Despite the long list of facilities advertised, many are either outdated, broken, or poorly maintained. It’s difficult to understand how this property qualifies for a 5-star rating, especially when compared to its sister hotels, which maintain a much higher standard. The check-in process was frustrating. After a long journey, guests are made to wait for hours under the premise of a “detailed check-in,” which ultimately takes just two minutes. It’s poorly organized and leaves a bad first impression that, unfortunately, continues throughout the stay. The main buffet restaurant was a major disappointment. The quality of food was below standard, and the atmosphere reminded me more of a noisy school cafeteria than a resort dining experience. While the à la carte restaurants (which require separate bookings) were considerably better, they aren’t enough to make up for the poor overall food offering. Customer service was also lacking. Management seemed more focused on damage control than actually resolving issues. Even after reporting food poisoning, the only response was a vague apology and promises that were never fulfilled. Reception staff were consistently rude and dismissive, leaving guests feeling more like an inconvenience than a priority. That said, credit must be given where it’s due: the rooms were well-kept and comfortable, and the cleaning staff, bartenders, waiters, and spa/gym personnel were all professional, kind, and attentive. They were the only real positive part of the experience. With so many fantastic resorts in Crete offering genuine luxury and hospitality, I strongly recommend looking elsewhere. This hotel does not deliver on its promises and falls far short of what one should expect from a 5-star stay.
