Black Bull Bellingham

What a lovely little pub in Bellingham. The staff are very attentive. Visited with my friend. We ordered the bull burger and a fish and chips,both were delicious..onion rings are amazing. Treated ourselves to a desert, and we were not disappointed with the biscoff cheesecake. We will definitely return.

We went here fora mid week evening meal with my parents and had a truly awful experience. We ordered food at around 7 pm and then we waited and we waited, other people arrived after us and were served before us, in fact everyone was served before us. When we complained over the two and a half hours we waited for our food the excuses where: There has been an issue with the food order going to the kitchen We were closed Monday and Tuesday and so the food prep has meant we are behind Everyone has arrived at once for order food The kitchen lost the order but it’s not our fault When the food did arrive not only was it slammed down on the table by a very rude member of staff, but it was so dry to be virtually indelible. Then after all that we were told all that could be done is to offer us a reduction from the bill, and we were very much made to feel that this was all our fault Needless to say there are other places to eat in Bellingham and we will never go here again and instead will visit the other places instead

This place was amazing I had fishcakes and halloumi, lovely, with a very tasty salad Hubby had steak pie and chips and was well impressed The staff are very friendly and super helpful. The place is clean and has a modern but traditional feel to it

Stayed two nights, our room was nice and cosy with a big window looking down the main street, everything very clean. The staff were all great - really friendly and helpful. They've only had the place a couple of months but clearly know what they're doing. Huge iron stove in the bar's fireplace made it a cosy place to have a few drinks each night after exploring the area. If we're looking to stay in the area again we'd book it again - really suited us (and the dog!)

In a word, s... had to fight for a refund and reported to trading standards. They'll tell you there's no food due to private parties or the chef being ill, but there's just no food. Don't pay by bank transfer, pay by card.

We had a great time - the hosts made us feel very welcome. We requested a pack lunch which was delivered with our breakfast hamper. Extreamly good value for money and a comfortable stay in a lovely room.

Stayed overnight on a very warm September night. No fan available to cool down the room. No food served in the evening as they were catering a private party and no breakfast served as they were catering a hunting group. It felt as though they couldn't wait to get you out of the pub . The room itself was clean and bed was comfortable but shower leaked and had a glass soap dispenser in it. The door downstairs in the pub banged loudly until gone midnight and the clock on the building next door chimed every hour so if you do stay here take ear plugs.

They were short of staff but very nice the two we met. Very convenient for our stay and Bellingham was a great place, plenty of pubs, cafes etc and a lovely walk to Hareshaw Linn. Our room was comfortable with an excellent shower room but problems occurred with the tv which took a long time to solve.
