As regular visitors we always enjoy Slaley Hall.
The hotel has a lovely atmosphere, from a warm welcome at Reception to check out.
The staff are all very pleasant and helpful.
The facilities are good, as are the food and rooms.
The location is good, perhaps the only downside is a lack of signage from the road for new visitors.

We arrived early and our room was ready.
The spa facilities were adequate. Only comment is some update needed to the rock effect around the pool.
The food in the Clarets jug was fine. Dessert bit disappointing.
The staff very friendly and Neville not sure his title but was a perfect gentleman. He transported our luggage to and from our bedroom with no effort. Neville was very polite and friendly. Hope to see him next time we visit.

We have thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. The spa treatments were most enjoyable and very relaxing. Our meal was fantastic tonight. The steaks were cooked to perfection and our waitress Freya was very attentive. Our only criticism is that we are keen walkers and the paths and routes around the grounds were terribly overgrown some parts nearly impassible. The signage was impossible to find or non existent at some places. If it wasn't for that we would have awarded five stars instead of four.

Where to begin. Around an hour to wait until our room was ready although check in was at 3pm. No offer of a complimentary drink at the bar as we waited, which is fair enough but would have been nice. Room a great size, spacious, clean, bathroom nice and the bed very comfortable. No robes in room for the spa so I went to reception to query. Apparently our room does not justify getting robes, peasants we are. So the Spa, if you’re booked on a Saturday don’t even waste your time going down. It was more like being in Benidorm. We wanted to relax and use the facilities. Instead we got a crèche in the pool and what resembled a cheap euro trip on the outside. Big groups drinking pints. We lasted about 30 mins before leaving the spa. Too loud, although people were being respectful it was hardly a relaxing atmosphere and the pool was that full you could barely get around people. Breakfast was the saving grace for our stay. Great selection of fresh produce all hot and tasty. The spa was a lot better on the Sunday and could actually get a few lengths in and managed to get a lounger. Overall the staff were nice and very polite. The grounds are lovely and the hotel has nice lounges to relax in with a glass of vino. But for the price of the stay I wouldn’t be rushing back unless we found another good deal.

We booked three suites (three couples) and could not fault the rooms. They were amazing. Two in the old hall, one in the new part and all were amazing. Spacious and luxurious as expected. Views were limited in the old hall but you don't spend time looking out of the windows. We had food in the golf side and restaurant side and you couldn't fault the quality. Drinks and food were all served with a smile by staff. Staff were amazing and really friendly and attentive. The spa allows children in but it didn't affect the relaxing time we had. Treatment rooms were lush and quiet I'd definitely recommend a treatment. Would we go back? We wished we never left! Thank you slaley!

What a beautiful hotel in a stunning location, we have visited a few times and really enjoy the spa. Our only 2 suggestions are slippers in the room to go with our robes considering it is a spa hotel (uncomfortable walking to spa in robes and shoes!) and coffee machines at breakfast not working would be nicer to be served tea/coffee on the morning instead of queuing

My friend and I booked an overnight stay and found the hotel and spa lovely good value for money the only criticism I have is the ladies toilets next to the restaurant were not very clean

Booked a treaty couple spa break. Check in was a nightmare with a 15 min queue, told there wasn’t a room available and then there was, key then didn’t work so had to re queue. Spa itself allows children so it was less than relaxing and not really a “spa experience”. Having done several spa breaks at a number of hotels this was the poorest experience. Had some spa treatments which were good and the beauty therapist was lovely. The relaxation room in the spa is very tired. Changing trims are tired - some lockers don’t work, drying machine for the ladies swimming costumes wasn’t working. Dinner was ok but pricey for the quality. Breakfast was at best average - no utensils for the fruit so had to ask, no yoghurt (told they had been out of yoghurt for two days), one coffee machine not working. Overall the staff were friendly and did try their best. If you are looking for a relaxing couple spa break then this hotel isn’t for you. There needs to be some work done on the basics to make this a relaxing couples experience .
