Arthurs

It is rare to give a score of 10 out of 10, but Arthur’s lived up to expectation and more. The self check-in seemed a little impersonal at first sight, but it worked flawlessly. Our room (3) was perfect, and my wife loved the powerful hairdryer and shower. The breakfast offering is simply the best you will find anywhere, set in the stylish dining room which morphs into a coffee shop during the day. Jill epitomised a Northern Irish welcome with her chatty and warm attention. Thank you. There is no onsite parking but this was not really a problem with on-street parking and a public car park nearby. This is an old building so sound does travel, but the plus’s far outweigh this minor criticism. My wife comes from Hillsborough and we will be back!

Arthur’s was a great find! The house has been fantastically repurposed into really lovely guest rooms, which are cleverly designed to be in keeping with the character of the building but finished off to a very high specification, with all you could need in a room, including very comfortable bed, tea making point and wine glasses & bottle opener. And spotlessly clean. The bathroom looks luxurious but modern with great shower - the Paul Costelloe toiletries were lovely - bathrobes are also provided. There is complimentary bottles of water in the Smeg fridges in the landings & jars of sweets too! Breakfast was great - good quality and lots of choice - and really very pleasant service. Would most definitely recommend!

I have to say this is one of best places I have stayed at for a while. I was most impressed by an impeccable customer service and the attention to detail on the small things that the big chains miss, based on cost cuttings. Clearly there has been great investment in the building and the rooms and they certainly cater for a short stay with all the creature comforts that one might need. Breakfast was amazing…. I have been to the coffee house before for a sandwich and drink which was equally good, but did not realise there was associated accommodation at the time. Would wholeheartedly recommend Arthur’s. Great value for money. Lynne, Jill and Natalie thank you for making my overnight stay so comfortable. The very best of Northern Irish hospitality…

This place is just perfect in every way from check in to breakfast we absolutely loved our night in Arthur’s. Waitress at breakfast was just so lovely nothing was too much trouble and the breakfast itself was just gorgeous. Beautiful room in fact the whole place is simply beautiful and we cannot wait to return!! Room 11 it will have to be… Ty guys for a truly memorable night away. See you ASAP ❤️

So glad we stayed here. The rooms and bathrooms are clean and beautifully furnished. The bed is big and comfortable. If you have a lot of luggage or you are staying for longer then you should probably consider upgrading to a bigger room, as the standard rooms are small and have very little storage space. Breakfast was very nice. The village is lovely, there is a popular pub just across the road (and two others nearby) the parking is nearby and cheap, and there is a lovely walk around a lake just behind the hotel (go through the churchyard). We didn't go to Hillsborough Castle as it wasn't open, but we still had a lovely time. Some street noise at night (even at the back of the building) but it's a town, what do you expect! We would chose this hotel again.

This place is a hidden gem. Fantastic customer service, especially by Jill and the cafe staff. Immaculate clean room and bathroom. Breakfast was 10/10 ( full fry 😋) . Hillsborough is a great small historical town. The castle cafe is very nice for lunch also. we will definitely be back. Thank you
