Gondwana Canyon Village

After ending up on the wrong side of the canyon from our intended destination (don''t ask), we came to Gondwana Canyon Village to ask directions, only to find out at 4 pm that we had about a 4-hour drive back to where we wanted to go. Luckily for us, the Village had a room available. We were treated so well by all of the staff and I have to highly recommend the manager on-duty who was nicknamed Kookoos (sorry if I misspelled it). What a lovely lady. We went on the sunset walk and came back and had an absolutely fabulous dinner (which is a buffet). The next morning we were treated to a delicious breakfast and our waiters Moses and Romero were very attentive. The grounds are well-maintained and really a fantastic, relaxing getaway. Our room was just a short walk away from the main building and it was very clean and private, with some much-appreciated heat during the Namibian winter night. I can't find anything negative to say about the Village or its staff. Thank you all for a memorable stay.

Individual air conditioned cottages set around a central area planted with kokerbooms with paths joining the cottages with restaurants and bar. Lovely pool with shaded boma and pool lounge chairs. Swimming towels are provided. Buffet dinners with a fantastic selection of meats and sides. Very friendly and helpful staff.

We stayed here one night with our Intrepid Tours Group. It’s breathtaking pulling in to see the hotel set in the rocks. The rooms and entire resort campus are beautiful as well. There is also a fabulous gift shop full of local handcrafts, and the buffet is accommodating to everyone. I’d highly recommend a stay here!

Wonderful place to stay. We were on a driving tour, organised by others and had no clue where we were staying from one night to the next. This Gondwana Collection lodge set the bar for all the other places we stayed at (two others from the same owners). Our lodge room was spacious enough, excellent showers and comfortable bed with excellent linens and pillows. We had one issue with air conditioner unit, someone attended within 5 minutes and fixed this, great service. The food was fresh, good and plentiful, which is amazing considering you are almost in the middle of nowhere. The pool and view from it were a bonus. We would be very happy to stay there again

We stayed at the Canyon Village for two nights at the beginning of December and were absolutely blown away by the serenity, service and were fitted with an aircon (much needed in the Namibian heat! The pool also served as a treat in the heat, with Dassie’s to keep you company. The dinner buffet was amazing, hosted under the stars by candle light and the breakfast buffet had a large variety to choose from. The village is in close proximity to the Fish River Canyon (30 min drive) which makes it very convent to travel to and from. The service in particular was outstanding. We would like to give a special mention to Timonthu for being so friendly and helpful. Mike, the maintenance man was an absolute life saver one morning and helped us in changing our flat tyre and then repairing the tyre, all without even being asked. I would highly, highly recommend The Gondwana Canyon Village to anyone and would recommend staying at least two nights to be able to experience and enjoy all its offerings. We will be back.
