Unembeza Boutique Lodge & Spa

We took Conscious Package of 3 nights 4 days, which was great. All the activities were amazing, once in a lifetime opportunity. Rooms are big with open-air shower. Just that in-room shower doesn’t have a door. Housekeeping is good. Cottage is in a forest setting, one can see few animals roaming around, sometimes drinking water. Staff are very friendly and always smiling. Laundry charges are reasonable but quite slow. Best part of this package is trip to Kruger National Park, our guide Mike was amazing. His knowledge and expertise made us see big 5. They serve 3 course meal for breakfast and dinner, which is great. Only issue is, they should have more options for Chicken. Like chicken burgers or nuggets. There should be noodles or fried rice in the menu all day. These things are easy to cook. Overall very good experience and a BIG thank you to all in Unembeza

The complex and the villas/suites are really beautiful and impeccable, with a harmonious interior and attractive design. Unfortunately, communication leaves a lot to be desired. On several occasions we either received no access code for the gate or received an incorrect one, which was very annoying. The general information culture was also unfortunately unsatisfactory. Our first breakfast was in the neighboring lodge, which we were not informed about. Since we needed a few minutes for the detour, we hardly had time to enjoy breakfast. An employee assured us that she would be there in the morning to give us the necessary information and codes - unfortunately she was not there and we were again left without anyone to contact. There were other deficiencies: There were no towels in the room, the WiFi code was also missing and no one was available to clarify these things. In the hope of improvement, I sent the lodge a detailed feedback email, but did not even receive a response. This lack of feedback reflects the inadequate communication and information structure, which unfortunately greatly tarnished the overall impression.

I had a great time, complete relaxation after a hectic work schedule. The nature drive was a combination of plant and animal knowledge, so informative. The dinners under the stars felt so peaceful, and the staff was really warm and humorous.

This is my 4th visit in two years and every time I have a wonderful stay. The staff are lovely, always friendly and helpful. I have stayed in 3 different types of rooms during my visits and all are beautiful, always immaculate and clean. The new manager Zeb has made some changes already including the breakfast menu which has definitely improved. This is my home from home when I'm staying in Hoedspruit and I wouldn't stay anywhere else. Thank you to all the staff as always for making me so welcome and for another wonderful week at Unembeza.

We stayed unfortunately just for one night after changing our plans and deciding to spend a night in Hoedspruit and definitely happy to choose Unembeza. We stayed at Villa Mhlabeni, the place is stunning! Extremely clean , we appreciated the rooftop terrace with a beautiful view of the lowveld, we also had a nice boma dinner with bbq and the food was delicious , the dinner has a great atmosphere as well. The villa is new and stylish and the manager Jonathan was kind and professional in assisting us. Next time in Hoedspruit I already know where to go: At Unembeza!
