Absolutely gorgeous hotel in a stunning setting. Staff (Elli) was incredibly kind and helpful. Spent 2 nights in Room 4: Bathroom/shower is beautiful; small window in the shower looks out to one of the waterfalls behind the building Beds are incredibly comfortable Coffee and tea are provided Electric kettle and French press in the room Hairdryer is provided Shampoo/conditioner/body wash provided Notes: No washcloths provided Shower floor is crazy slippery; consider shower shoes? Black out shades are so-so; bring an eye mask in the summer if you’re a light sleeper (late May it never got dark)

Good direction instructions. Chalet type quality building better than average but not luxurious - in isolated nature location with expansive views. Main benefit in winter is night-over location for next day visit to Hofn & Jokulsarlon glacier. Location easily accessed off A1 main road route. Only a 6/10 as a value proposition , lack of even a basic breakfast purchase option. A yogurt,fruit & croissant or sandwich via vending machine or breakfast box would add value. No amenities closeby. Note: If coming from Southwest last eatery on A1 is about 63km before residence. An hour to the East most Hofn restaurants closed for winter. Lock box entrance process efficient. Second floor apartment accessed by metal stairs. Three roof covered parking spaces utilized by three lower floor residents.No problem with parking on lot. Big wooden deck on upper floor for two available rooms. Larger third abode was cordoned off. Perhaps the latter abode has a hot tub but none was visible on site. Room was very warm on entrance. Comfortable bed. Request for not walking in shoes inside wood floored room. After seeing a tourist enter a shop in clampons I fully understand the need. A shoe rack though would be a welcome addition in winter. Bathroom and toilet combined. Ventilation is via small window. Electricity socket each side of bed. No usb outlets.So bring your own suitable plug. Good quality internet:53mbsdownload, 41 upload.TV was not programmed but Netflix/Disney was accessible. Wine opener Kettle & drinking crockery/cafetière. & coffee,tea,sugar is provided. No microwave or cooking possibilities. Security cameras very small, discreet and intrusive - directed straight into room windows! Overall location a benefit but need to have dined and breakfast groceries pre-purchased.

Absolutely stunning views from huge windows. Genuinely unbeatable, make sure to bring some binoculars to look at the waterfalls and glaciers. 10 minute drive to Jokularson. Very modern facilities, massive smart TV, fridge included. Recommend.

We were a family (3 couples) traveling Iceland together for 8 days. My son planned the trip, we flew into Keflavik Airport got a rental car and drove to our furthest point Ekra Lodge so we could spend the week working our way back sightseeing. We booked 2 rooms here each had 3 single beds, bathroom and coffee station. The beds were amazing super comfortable and the pillows were amazing. We arrived about 2:30 a.m. and we had a great view of the Northern Lights which was very cool to see. We were all exhausted so we pretty much got to our rooms and we all passed out. It was dark so we really couldn't see the surroundings. The owners have everything as let yourself in with code which was nice, we were super quiet so we didn't wake any other guests. I believe there are 5 total units all different prices and sizes, we had what we needed. The next a.m. the shower pressure was amazing as was the entire shower. We all got ready and walked outside and well-ahhh what a view. The backside of the home there were 2 waterfalls and a spectacular mountain view behind the house then when you looked straight forward there was a huge white topped glacier over a vast green field, it looked like a postcard, has to be incredible to wake up to that view each day, it almost looked fake it was so pretty. We took alot of pictures before we hit the road for breakfast. I only wish we had arrived a bit sooner to enjoy the place a bit more, there is a huge balcony up top that has several chairs and the view is again amazing. I highly recommend this place is you need for 1 night super quiet and each suite had guests and plenty of space for 5-6 cars with no issues.

This was a modern place, clean, with a nice bathroom. The location was nice too. The problem was that our room 1 was downstairs and the view was blocked by parking cars. Also, the only large windows were out front, and if you want privacy you need to close the curtains. That layout is not working. In addition there was a construction zone directly next to the house. This made parking difficult and was an eyesore. Breakfast is not included, and any meal has to be taken 3 miles away at the Hali Country hotel or at Gerdis.

Although the apartment had two rooms, there were no doors to the rooms. Since we were 2 couples, it wasn't very pleasant to move around the apartment freely. No privacy!!!! Getting to the hotel from the parking lot is a bit complicated.

We arrived here late at night in the dark after a slightly stressful 5 hour drive (on the wrong side of the road for us). We got the last parking space as someone was leaving which was very lucky as it's not totally clear where you are able to park and where not. We got the key from the box by the door using the code on our email. This all worked fine and the room was beautifully decorated and warm. Shower was great and needed. Little touches of drinks in the room was nice and the use of Netflix on the tv was a surprise in such a remote area. We only stayed one night but can imagine staying longer may be a pain due to food locations and parking. However, it seemed there was a kitchen on site, not sure if you can use it though. But the best part was waking up to the most incredible view i've ever seen. You will not be disappointed. Would stay again immediately.
