Hotel Villa Ludwig Hohenschwangau

The staff was really friendly and helpful. Room with a view of the castle, so nice and clean. Breakfast buffet also a lot of options. I tried to get tickets for the next day to see the castle but was unable to, the hotel owner made it happen. Overall a great stay!

Beautiful and clean boutique hotel at the foothills of Neuschwanstein Castle. Our room and bathroom were both spacious and modern! We had a beautiful view of the castle from our balcony. Staff was always friendly and accommodating! They give you a pass for the local bus to Fussen which we used twice! Nice breakfast as well!! Highly recommend!

Excellent, updated accommodations. Comfortable and spacious rooms. Nice breakfast. Helpful and friendly staff. A perfect retreat to relax and enjoy the splendor of the mountains. When we checked in, Judith was extremely helpful. She went out of her way to help us figure out our plans. We had to change our travel plans due to lower Austria flooding. She was so very kind and helpful.

Staff was super friendly and accommodating. We arrived well before check-in time, with luggage and stayed in Hohenschwangau well after check-out time and they allowed us to keep our bags there in a secure area both before and after. They also allowed us to use the restroom facilities and helped us with transportation and other planning details. Can't say enough about the staff's friendliness and helpfulness. Will definitely stay at Hotel Villa Ludwig if we come back to the region!!!

Great little suite hotel in the fairytale land of Bavaria. Sabine at the front desk was exceptional, rooms are clean and nicely decorated, location is unbeatable, breakfast is good, and they also have underground garage for parking. Highly recommended and while expensive, worth every penny!

Amazing location! We rented the Chalet (former 1920s Hunting Lodge) and was perfect. The chalet is updated and has amazing views and is private. Each room has a balcony that overlooks one of the castles. It is even better than the pictures on their website. We will definitely be coming back and staying there again. Great and friendly service as well.

Two week trip in Germany, staying at boutique hotels, this one was my favorite. There’s road work being done out front and they upgraded me to a better room in the back to avoid the road work noise. Our room, and probably most of the rooms, has an amazing view. All the town has to offer a visitor is all within walking distance of this hotel. The hotel and staff allowed us to keep our car there on check out day, while we visited the town and castle. They are super friendly and I can’t wait to go back and visit again.

This is a very nice hotel situated in picturesque area below Neuschwanstein Castle and it is very clean, well maintained. Front desk staff very helpful and friendly.Lovely big room with very comfy bed, separate large bathroom and toilet, mini bar and tea & coffee making facilities. We had a small balcony with fantastic view of the castle. I highly recommend it for its cleanliness, warm and helpful service, view and location.

It was a bit mixup when I check in but it was straighten up right away due to the same last name. Also they forgot my request for lactose free meal. Plus the road was on construction and harder to reach. That is why it only get a 5 stars but not a 6 stars! lol It is a very nice hotel. It has underground parking. The room we stayed for two nights can see Neuschwanstein castle from our balcony. I even took some evening photos from it. Also our room is very roomy and quiet. The breakfast is kind of skinny choose but it works. All the helpers are very nice. It has a spa based on appointment but we didn’t have time for it. It’s not far to walk to ticket office if you intend to visit both castles. It’s about 30 mins walk to the castle uphill. Also you can wait for the horse carriage too. But it would be wise to book Neuschwanstein castle months in advance. During our stay, it was a bit snowing and the Marien bridge was closed. We did walk around the lake and it is very quiet and pleasant. The room did not provide microwave and the mini fridge is very tiny. So be aware of it.
