My Blue Hotel Holbox

El hotel esta bien, se ve relativamente nuevo y lo conservan en buen estado. Las playas son hermosas pero por lo mismo está un poco aislado del centro de la ciudad donde están los restaurants y las tiendas, aunque tiene una pequeña tienda poco surtida aun lado y un pequeño minisuper un poco más lejos. Cuenta con dos albercas pero están frías siempre, no sé si en verano se toleren, en invierno no nos pudimos meter, los niños y los europeos no tuvieron tanto problema. Al ser una isla no hay servicio médico para situaciones delicadas y lo más cercano es Cancún a dos horas y media en ferry y después carretera para que vayas preparado. La mayoría del personal es muy amable y servicial. Lo PÉSIMO es el restaurant, los alimentos en general tienen mala sazón pero lo peor de todo es el DESAYUNO, solo hay huevos revueltos HORRIBLES que parecen que los hacen con agua, salchichas, frijoles, chilaquiles y hotcakes. El jugo es diluido con agua y jarabe (lo vimos), es el colmo!!! como si no cobraran suficiente!!! El pan dulce fatal, el café escaso y no te lo sirven en la mesa. Las charolas de comida siempre vacías pues los huéspedes éramos demasiados y no se daban abasto. Está tan mal que de plano al tercer día decidimos ir a un hotel vecino (y pagar $1500 por 3 personas) con un excelente bufet muy abundante y excelente servicio, todo el café que queríamos y siempre nos servían en la mesa. Había huevos revueltos preparados pero también podías pedir un omelet con diferentes extras al momento, etc. En general mil veces mejor. Los tours que te vende el hotel no te aclaran que no estás en temporada por lo que el de bioluminiscencia no se ve casi nada y tienes que estar moviendo el agua para medio ver algo y el de las 3 islas no ves ni un solo flamenco rosa. Definitivamente a este hotel NO regresamos.

Excelente hotel, todo perfecto.

Service was below our expectation. Breakfast was of low quality and little choice. The Newyear eve party was expensive for what we got. There were bottles of champagne but reserved for the staff. Clents had to pay for any drink. Service was poor. The room had the lavatory next to the bed instead of being in a separate room.

This is an overpriced hotel for what you get. Sure, nice beach and comfortable bed and clean but nothing extra that the one would expect. Service is not up to standard for a high-end hotel. We have had better service at hotels for a third of the cost!

Do not stay here. I am currently a guest here and I have been stolen from the safe deposit (caja fuerte), it was some with access to the room (key) and access to the machine that can alter the safe guard to open it without any struggle. The hotel yet has not provided us any help or solution and the money we got stolen is way to high. The hotel told us they would let us see the cámaras and to the police too but it has not happened yet. Hotel is leaving us with a sense of high insecurity and no help. We want to talk to the owner but he hast shown his face yet.

The overall experience was bad about Holbox. Its far away drive for nothings special basically. We booked Blue Holbox as it looked great on the photos and its close to the white sand beaches and have a pool. It felt overpriced though. Try to take only a short note about our experience. Holbox is nothing special compare to Tulum, etc. The “hotel” is not a 4 star and nothing like on the pictures, the rooms are old, far from the beach, dark. It is a big construction site, they jus build all the bungalows around continously, noisy! NO HOT WATER in the room, dirty rooms and the safe was not working! The pool is dirty and a children cannot play and swim in it. The beach is distgusting not white and blue like on the pictures. Its full of wide 2-3 meters thick smelly rotten seaweed. The sand is hard like stone! There is dunes of seaweed on the beach. In all hotels when we asked for 1 dl of hot milk for our 2 year old child they just happily gave it to us, here they asked 50 pesos:) We told the manager we want to just pay for 1 night and leave in the morning, we asked to pay us back the rest of the 3 nights. They said wait till the morning and we sort this out, offered a same room but on a different spot, they did not want to understand that we want to leave as this is nothing like they told and promoted. They were very rude and said they cannot do refund. Never offered to help so we left and booked another hotel in costa mujeres not to ruin our last days in Mexico. Blue Holbox is the worst place i have ever been, hope people read this and they choose a different place to stay if they want to visit the island.
