Novotel Citygate Hong Kong recensioner

Arrived from a long flight and went to bed shortly after arrival. With we woke up we noticed quite a few things. The wallpaper was sagging and split open above the bed, the furnishings were in terrible condition with cracks all over the edges, the bathroom had a broken string pull chain, carpeting was filthy, even the tv remote was so old that you could not read the numbers on the key pad. The worse was the moldy grout in the shower and in the VENTING SYSTEM. It was so unhealthy that the sprinkler above the vent had mold growing on it. It looks like it hasn’t been refurbished for at least 20 years. When I explained the situation to the general manager, he said he would “ look into it.” I didn’t realize that all night long we were breathing in moldy air that may jeopardize our health. Overall, it was one night, and would definitely not stay again at this hotel. We are not sure how this hotel was “highly” rated.

So convenient to do business with airlines at the airport and at the Citygate One offices. Direct access to the shopping mall is a plus for fooding and leisure while the co-located Tung Chung metro line and numerous bus lines make it easy to travel around and to go downtown Hong Kong (Kowloon station). And if you have time, the cable car is within a 5 minutes walk for a unique experience.

Suitable for transiting thru airport or disneyland travellers. We even went back to hotel from disneyland halfway as it is so near via train. Worth the price I think. Hotel not as old as we thought, and more spacious than I thought.

The facilities are a little bit old, so they need to update the decloration so that they have a competitive other new hotel because their location is good. Thank you for the services.

Big room and good location that is near malls with popular restaurants like HDL and Tao Tao Ju

Novotel is always good 👍🏼 even though it's not new and the design is old-fashioned. The location is great. The room is spacious. The breakfast is as it should be in a hotel. There's only one drawback - why is it so dark in the corridor?

Quite convenient location. Shuttle bus to the airport. Nice pool area, but half of the day it's in shadow. For 150$ US per night, furniture is too old, room needs renovation.

Ideal for visiting Asia Expo: Shuttle to and from Fair, near by metro and big Outlet, restaurants and different markets.

Great one night transiting experience at Novotel Citygate! 5 mins to Promade where you can see airplanes take off! The hotel is connected to the Citygate outlet so absolutely convenient for shopping and dining. One disappointing moment was the breakfast buffet. I was expecting to have dimsum… but the food quality wasn’t what I was expecting. Noodle was the delicious though~

Good location, linking directly to the mall and not far from the MRT station. However, it all started a bit badly when I arrived 45 minutes before check-in and, completely understandably, the room was not ready. However, what was not acceptable was the suggestion I "maybe try around 14:30" when check-in is supposed to be at 14:00.  The room was rather "tired," good in its day no doubt, but now dated and worn (particularly the wood and carpet). There are no electricity sockets by the bed, unbelievably! The light switches are a confusing mess;  even after 2 days I was just randomly pressing switches and hoping for the best. It took forever to find the main bathroom switch. The fridge is feeble unless you put something in it for 24 hours; good luck with buying something and trying to cool it down to have it the same day. It really annoys me when places "get environmental" on my behalf, especially when what they really mean is that they are saving money and degrading my facilities. (There is a sticker on it which seems to celebrate the fact it is not very cold because it is a minibar)?! I have no issue at all with reusing towels and bedlinen etc, but I expect to be able to set my fridge to be as cold as I want! There are no tissues, which is really very odd. There is no accessible HDMI socket for the TV, but there was an ancient video input of the type I remember from about 25 years ago! I resent being forced to pay for two breakfasts. Why is there no pricing option for just one breakfast included? Life as a singleton is expensive enough without subsiding breakfasts for couples! Overall it was not a disaster, but for the price I'll try elsewhere next time. I had expected better.

Great premium serviced hotel in Lantau island and great location! ♥️ If you wish to travel to Big Buddha and manor it’s just 15 minutes walk to the funicular station. Hotel has direct access to outlet shopping center, so if you wish to get some good deals for lux brands and sports products, that’s the right place 🛍️

Nice hotel, accessible to the tourist spots, outlet mall and walking distance to MTR. Highly recommended! Thumbs up👍
