L'etoile Hella Inn

Worst that I have even stay. The air-conditioning is not working properly. The door of the dorm has to open all the time to let the fresh air or cool air in. But the dorm has over 20 beds. The time that I stay have over 15 person in the room. Air- conditioner is malfunctioning. The whole room feel like sauna. I couldn’t sleep for whole night. I booked for 2 nights. But I have to go after the first night. Basically wasted my money. The shower is dirty and somethings is broken. The bed and the mattress is not matched. The cover of the Quilt is broken. Communication with the staff even worst via the WhatsApp. When I call the staff, the staff is very rude and having a bad attitude and temper. Avoid this place at all costs.

The room and bathroom are small, which matches the price. The best part is the great location near the MTR and the easy self check-in/out. However, cleanliness was a problem—one bed looked dirty, and the other had hair on the pillow. I used my T-shirt as a pillow cover. The towel smelled musty, so bring your own.The power outlet next to my bed made strange electrical noises, so I didn’t dare use it. Lastly, the room isn’t soundproof—you can hear music and conversations from the neighboring buildings until after 1 a.m. on both nights I stayed. Overall, it wasn’t a pleasant stay for me.

I liked it, good stay, clean enough, comfortable and really roomy capsule compared to another I stayed in HK. Only problem was It was incredibly hot inside the capsule when I closed the blind, only a portable fan no AC, so woke up a few times too hot. That being said, would 100% stay again, perfect for solo traveller visiting HK!

It really very near to the metro station, the capsule is very large space and it also provide a locker to us which could locate the mid size luggage easily.

Everything at this capsule hotel was excellent except the air conditioner. The AC in the male-priority room does not work. It's common to see guests fidget with the AC remote control. But no matter the setting, it's just warm air coming out. Some guests who complain to the manager were moved into the female-priority room where the AC works fine. But it's only if there's space in that room. If outdoor temperature is in the low to mid 20s, you can probably still feel comfortable with the USB fan the hotel provides in the capsule. But if gets warmer than that, you're going to bake in the capsule. On some nights, someone would leave the male-priority door open and use a large industrial fan to blow air from the common area into the room. This indeed works to cool the room. But some guests would close the door for privacy or noise. If the owner would just fix the AC, this would be the best dorm/capsule hotel in Hong Kong.
