A lovely pub/hotel in a lovely village! The room was great, comfortable and spacious. The meal in the restaurant was excellent as was the breakfast. All the staff we met were so friendly with a ready smile. Hope itself is a brilliant find which we would certainly return to - just don’t tell too many people about it as it is very special.

Lovely place to stay . View from the very comfortable room was just perfect . Going to sleep at night in a very comfortable bed and listening to the waves was lovely . All staff were very friendly and helpful , the meals we had were also excellent . We intend to return

Absolutely delightful experience: the staff, our room, the whole ambience coupled with its prime location and dining with them on the evening certainly exceeded our expectations. We stayed in room 14 and it truly was wonderful. We would return to do the same in a heartbeat ♥️

Character hotel in a stunning location. Excellent food and drinks available and staff very efficient, friendly and helpful. Will definitely visit again. Hope Cove has a great relaxing vibe, everyone seemed happy! Lots to do in surrounding areas, lovely place to visit even if weather was changeable

Amazing staff. Amazing food. Really accommodating for 5 adults and 5 dogs for food. Nice toilets that actually give loads of space to move around in the cubicle that was an added bonus. The pub was busy and obviously the best choice as it was clean and excellent taste in decor.

We stayed in the suite. Very clean and comfy with a huge bed. We took our Goldador dog who was also well loved. Great breakfasts and evening meals with friendly staff and a brilliant location for walks and visits to other locations nearby like Burgh Island

My wife and I have just returned from a fabulous 3 night stay at the Hope and Anchor at Hope Cove. Our second stay there. James and all of his staff were very helpful, very friendly and a pleasure to spend our break with. They really go the extra mile to create a super atmosphere. The room was lovely with an excellent ensuite and shower. Our breakfasts and evening dinners were really enjoyable. Even the coffee machine in our room was first class.

This is the third time we have stayed at the Hope & Anchor and there are many reasons we keep coming back. The location of the pub & views from the room and second to none, the service is exceptional no matter the time of day, and the breakfast is phenomenal. The roofs are very well equipped. It really is the perfect coastal bolt-hole and despite being a busy pub, the rooms are always very quiet. The only negative which I felt I had to mention (and I'm always very hesitant to leave a negative review when a place has so many positives) is that over the course of our stays over the past 2 years I've noticed the condition of the rooms deteriorating. We stayed in Room 6 this time, and the walls were really scraped/ scruffy and there was a lot of visible damp & mould around the windows and especially in the bathroom (on the ceiling, within the extractor etc.) and the extractor fan didn't work. This would in no way stop us from returning, but I do feel the rooms could be refurbished to ensure they remain worthy of the nightly fee.

Really lovely 3 night stay, with excellent friendly and helpful staff, wonderful food, delicious actually. Great location with a terrace for looking at the sea with a glass of wine and watching the sun go down. What more can you ask for. The dining area had sea views too. Rooms were quaint and very clean with a sea view. Very accommodating manager as we were concerned about scaffolding but it was all ok and didn’t spoil our stay or our view. Very peaceful and the quietest little cove with some truly spectacular scenery nearby.Love

We have had a lovely stay at the Hope & Anchor Inn. Staff were incredibly welcoming, and the room was beautifully designed, clean, very comfy, with a great view of the sea. Delicious meal, and breakfast. Enjoyed a walk along the beach and parking was available outside the inn for us. Would highly recommend.

Booked all the rooms for a golfing trip last weekend. Great service, very friendly staff, good food and overall good value. Efficiently run hotel in great location.Some enjoyed swimming in the cove early morning in between the seals. Would be happy to book again

What a lovely place. An amazing hotel in an amazing location. The restaurant and bar is excellent too. Our room was like a suite with a living room area and tv. There was a main bedroom with a view of the bay and a separate bedroom for the children. Nigel (Raynes Park)

The Hope & Anchor is a wonderful hotel, in a secluded but pleasant cove. It has a great bar and dining rooms, complimented by a fabulous and attentive staff. The food is also delicious. The only fault we found was in the room we were allocated. It was a family room called ‘The Cabin’. We didn’t like it. It was too big (for a couple); too dark (old-fashioned furniture which was not to our taste); it had no kettle (we are not coffee drinkers); and the bedside lamps didn’t work. We would definitely go back though - to a smaller, double room

Location lovely. Accommodation was comfortable and warm. The staff were attentive and helpful. On the downside, dinner on our first night was average, we had to wait ages for our main course. We had the impression that they were short staffed.
