Myself and husband had a fantastic breakfast at Hotel Rudyard on 17 October 2025. Teresa and Eve welcomed us and nothing was too much trouble. They had lit the fire nice and early so it was warm and cozy when we got there. The food was beautiful and Teresa and Eve gave us great service. It is always a good experience whenever we visit Hotel Rudyard, so much so that for the last few years, and indeed again this year, we have treated ourselves to Christmas Day lunch. Can't wait for our next visit, and indeed for our Christmas Day lunch.

Got married here 16 years ago We decided to go back for our anniversary and rented a pod. Service was fantastic Food is best I have ever had at this venue. Pods are unique cute and cosy. Will defo be back again soon

Overnight stay at this beautiful place, went to watch the USA 485 band, there is a small reception desk as you walk through main entrance, made to feel very welcome immediately. We had a delicious evening meal, good choice of beers and wine, our hotel room was so nice, huge comfortable bed, great bathroom and fabulous views. Spotlessly clean Breakfast was very good, freshly cooked to order, hot and tasty Large car park Would highly recommend a stay or visit to this place

Most expensive hotel per night at £148 per night. Room should have been classed as a single as so small. Twin beds , no bedside table to put water on or lamp. A chair but no where to put your tea down. Asked to change rooms but double offered was no bigger but did have side tables. Bathroom had musty smell. Poor accommodation for the price. Bar area pleasant but some seating was very stained and in need of up dating. Did get a refund for the two days we had booked but didn’t stay. Breakfast was very limited, small cereal selection no fruit, croissants, yogurts etc although they may have offered them if asked. Cooked breakfast, smoked bacon over cooked and tough. All in all a bad choice. However, location was beautiful by the lake, lovely walk or cycle and nice outlook to have a drink. Would I recommend, no sorry needs to be much better.

A fantastic hotel and location, staff can't do enough for you, food excellent, great rooms with vey comfortable beds, cleanliness's spot on , relaxed atmosphere with a proper family welcome. 10/10

We stayed for one night last night and thoroughly enjoyed it. All of the staff are very friendly, welcoming and efficient. The food was excellent and at a reasonable price. We were really comfortable in our room, which had a proper coffee machine, after having drinks in the pleasant garden. After breakfast we walked from the door for a flattish walk around the lake which was very pretty.

On arrival we were charged £20 for an early check in tho the room was already ready for occupancy we were attending a wedding near by so it was basically just to drop our bags off check in was 2pm & we arrived at 1pm different if it was 10am or 11am that we were looking to check in I’d have seen through it. The shower in the room was horrendous it’s running of the bath so the temperature was either red hot or freezing no in between which was very disappointing! Ordered breakfast next morning the only two in the dining room and it took 20mins to arrive 🤦♀️

We always if we can stay here when visiting family. Set in woodlands next to the lake with a good food menu and great breakfast included in the price. From our room we could see swifts ( or swallows, can never remember which is which!) flying out to feed and a single heron sitting in a tree. A good value hotel with nice friendly staff make it a welcoming and relaxing place to stay.

The room itself was satisfactory. The staff were all pleasant and helpful. Enjoyed the breakfast and plenty of choice. The room for the party was decorated elegantly and the buffet was lovely with a great choice. The only downside is you need to bring your own tea coffee etc for your room, they only supply two coffee capsules and no milk or tea. There is however coffee machine and a kettle so remember to bring your own. Slight let down after paying £120. Would stay again.
