Had a Sunday roast here with our walking group the place was packed says something the staff were very busy mix of family couples friends. Great big out door seating area some covered . The food was lovely we had to wait a while understandable they were very busy didn’t bother us as it was a great time to catch up with everyone. The management offered us a drink to compensate for the wait nice gesture but we understood not like staff were standing round they were extremely busy. Food came out lovely an hot an very tasty so worth the wait couldn’t fit in a sweet to my disappointment. Lovely place great atmosphere definitely go again an maybe stay next time it’s a great location

Well looked after by all staff, very welcoming, friendly and helpful. Lovely room. Delicious breakfast served by the lovely Karina, who was so friendly. Thank you. Came to stay for a local family gathering. The perfect location. Great atmosphere. Popular for families and couples.

I love this place; we go regularly and are never disappointed with the excellent, professional service, great food and welcoming atmosphere. Even if you are not a local, you will feel like you are because the staff (and customers) are so friendly.

Food was absolutely lovely , spot on , very tasty , service was exceptionally good. It became clear there were only 2 members of staff running the place , I asked their names , joe and Lucy. What remarkable young people they are and a credit to the employer - the place was packed , they both smiled , chatted and never looked under pressure - despite the fact they were under extreme pressure and clearly needed more staff . Joe and Lucy made our night memorable. They are loyal, hardworking, resilient,,,, they were like a tag team. One of our party works in hospitality- she was shocked at the lack of staff but totally in awe of Joe and Lucy . You have a great pub serving fabulous food , please don’t cut corners with the staff . Those 2 were diamonds tonight and we over heard other customers saying similar.

Popped in for lunch with friends, greeted by Quinn as we walked in and informed us of the new menu that had started this week. We opted for the Thai style curry and the beetroot burger. Both were full of flavour and amazing. Amazing little pub. Definitely be back.

Went for the Sunday roast, which we have had several times in the past. Service was excellent as usual, with the food delivered promptly and hot. We were however disappointed as although there was a 30% discount on mains, there appeared to be a similar reduction in the portion size. We like to leave feeling satisfied after a roast, but on this occasion we didn't. Sadly disappointing.

Enjoyed our stay at the Green Lodge. This hotel is in a great location for the easy walk into the village with many interesting shops/cafes/pubs. Also it's within a short distance to the railway station where the trains are every 15 mins. into the city centre of Liverpool. The food in the hotel is delicious and the staff are so pleasant and helpful. Our room was large and comfortable with a good shower. We loved the Abba tribute night on New Year's Eve. This is our second visit and we'll definitely be back.

Used the pub as a base to travel to Liverpool for the day. Perfect location for the Metro. Pub looked very nice as did the food although didn’t eat there. Bathroom in bedroom 3 probably needs a bit of a makeover - glass shelf over sink was a bit awkward. All in all fantastic value and perfect for what we wanted. Have stayed at quite a few Marston pubs and they have all been great. Will definitely be visting again. Diolch yn fawr/ Thanks

The Christmas decor was amazing ,Atmosphere fabulous The food was wonderful ,Karina and her team worked wonders ,The service was very smooth and faultless the food was well presented and tasted marvellous the atmosphere was warm and welcoming the team were led from the front by Karina who kept things running smoothly and efficiently we will be returning in the new year.
