Alba Spa Hotel foton

We had the pleasure of staying at the Alba Spa Hotel for 2 nights - my only regret is that we didn't stay longer! Upon arrival, we were greeted with a beverage and checked in with Linh, the host extraordinaire! Not only was she kind and friendly with a ready smile the entire time, she was so helpful in so many ways - and she seemed to always be working - day and night! We had booked a private driver to the airport in Da Nang (for the equivalent of $87), and she provided us with a way better option, and booked us on a shuttle for only $15 Canadian each! Once we left the hotel, about an hour en route to the airport, my friend realized she forgot her passport in her room safe! We called Linh and she immediately arranged to have a courier deliver the passport to us at a coffee shop just outside of the airport. She is amazing!!! Anyway, the room - it was fabulous - bright, spacious, spotless, comfortable beds and pillows, and the slippers and robe were a welcome sight, since we had just completed an 8 hour Vespa tour in the rain and were quite chilled - we actually had to turn the heat on in the room! Since it was still raining in Hue, it was nice to discover an umbrella in the closet - it sure came in handy. Good water pressure in the spacious walk-in shower. And the breakfast, which was included with our stay, was phenomenal! There were several dishes I could eat, which, being celiac, does not always happen. When I showed the server my "gluten free in Vietnamese" card, she called the chef out, who indicated everything I could eat. What service! Oh, my phone had a bit of water damage (I didn't enclose it carefully enough in my plastic case while on the Vespa tour) and the server gave me a huge bowl of rice to submerge my phone in, and after a few hours, it was as good as new! Linh suggested we go to the jacuzzi, which is free for hotel guests from 4-7 pm. The jacuzzi was amazing - there's a cooler pool and a hot one, with the temperature of the water being 47 degrees! It was good for the bones and we took advantage of this for the two days of our stay. Linh also flagged down a taxi for us, to go to the Imperial City/Citadel, and the metered ride cost us only the equivalent of about $2 Canadian, we were that close! Great location, you can walk to the Perfume River and even to the Citadel (but with our penchant for taking the wrong turn, we thought it better to get a taxi there - but we did walk back). There are lots of ATMs around, and coffee shops, and you are only about 2 blocks away from a major restaurant and bar area. I would definitely stay here again!
