Wrangham House

Stayed in room 1 , great room , good amenities.did not find the hotel cold in any way .breakfast was very nice with a good selection of different foods . Evening meal was excellent, fresh fish cakes to die for . Best nights sleep I have had in a long time / must say if you want an evening meal you need to let them know

Wasn’t what I expected far too many stairs to room the higher you went the rooms got colder wasn’t much of a choice of breakfast items especially if your vegetarians door would not shut in bathroom and drains smelt when running water in bathroom sink

We stayed at this lovely house (presumably originally the vicarage) for one night. I must say the Christmas decorations adorning the house were beautiful. The breakfast was also very good and the room in the annexe clean but pretty average. However it was noticeably cold hence my 3 star rating! When we arrived in the hotel at 3.00 (check-in) time I noticed how cold it felt. Disappointingly we had to go outside to the annexe to get to our room. On entering the heating wasn’t on and the bathroom and room were freezing! My husband managed to get the electric heater to work and we went out straight away to give the room time to heat up! Again at breakfast the dining room was noticeably cold with a tiny electric heater in the fireplace. Whether any radiator was on I’m not sure. Overall I wouldn’t recommend especially in the cold weather. Not at all cosy. Yes the Christmas decorations were extravagant, but the heating needs turning up and fires and stoves lighting!

Absolutely wonderful! I cannot fault the hotel, the staff, decor, character and effort made by everyone! I paid more than I usually would for a room overnight as a solo traveler, but I would pay it 10x over for the quality of experience. If you ever get the chance to stay, you won’t regret it. Nothing was too much trouble and the facilities are beautiful.

Well worth every penny and a very beautiful period building service and quality resteraunt its advisable to book resteraunt with stay as its very popular beautiful room and spotlessly clean and extremely polite staff we were visiting filey and my home town whitby perfect for access to all cant recomend enough

Our aim was to have a relaxing four day break and that it what we had. The cleanliness, attention to detail, comfort, food, service and friendliness of the owners/hosts , Peter and Stacie, made our stay a memorable one. The quiet village location makes it an ideal venue for visiting the East coast and the Yorkshire Wolds. We will return......
