Alma Bay Resort was very beautiful, located next to water and only 15 min drive from the airport. Rooms were clean and the cleaning service team were excellent, always checking to ensure we had everything. Fresh bottles of water were replaced each day, other beverages were chargeable. The main buffet restaurant was good and had different items each day. The Italian restaurant was lovely and despite a small menu the food was great. The 3 bars were ok, as expected on all inclusive it is weaker spirits etc but the beer was great. My partner and I both suffered upset stomachs on day 4/5 which lasted for about 2 days. The cause was unknown whether it could have been contaminated water / food / ice cubes at some point as we made sure to avoid drinking tap water etc. there is a pharmacy which prescribed antinal and streptoquin to ease the symptoms but did come at a charge. Highly recommend taking Imodium with you as they do not sell it in Egypt at all. We knew of maybe 4/5 other people travelling from Hurghada who also experienced stomach issues. The highlight of this hotel though is the staff, they were absolutely excellent and if I could would give them 5 stars rating. From the cleaning team to bar staff, maintenance and management, every single member was polite, friendly and always looking to help where possible. The beach sun loungers are great, you are giving fresh towels for the loungers each day. I recommend also asking for a red flag which once put on your lounger, you won’t get hassled by the animation team asking to join in activities or ride camels etc. We were asked to do a review by one of the animation team on Google which she insisted to do there and then while she told us what to put. This was a bit off putting as it felt forced and I expect some other guests won’t be so polite about it. Overall a great stay, lovely weather and people.
