In the middle of nowhere, at the end of the world, and yet absolutely worth going to. A spectacular and tasteful renovation of an old manor. The most sumptuous breakfast we’ve ever been offered. And a very friendly couple that redefines the “host” concept. Need I say more?

What a wonderful experience we had staying with Peter and Edith last month. They went out of their way to make us feel welcome. Our room was beautiful and very spacious and perfect for our overnight stay. We stayed in a truly beautifully restored Manor House in delightful countryside.

Thank you Edith and Peter for a great time at your place and your hospitality. You have a wonderful place. We stayed in a beautiful room. The calm surroundings were perfect for a morning run and the delicious breakfast afterwards got us energized for another stage of our roadtrip.

Contrairement aux avis déjà postés, je serais beaucoup moins enthousiaste sur cette maison d'hôtes. Je partage la beauté de la maison, le goût très sûr concernant la décoration ainsi que la qualité de la literie et la très jolie sdb avec douche à l'italienne (nous avions la chambre Treron). Concernant l'accueil, qui a été expéditif nous concernant, comment fait-il que les hôtes Néerlandais d'origine ne parlent pas un mot de français quand l'on vient vous accueillir ? Mon conjoint, qui parle peu anglais, a été totalement exclu de toute conversation. Pour des personnes qui adorent la France et qui souhaitent promouvoir les interactions avec les gens du cru, je reste très septique... La maison étant au milieu de nulle part et les hôtes ne proposant pas de dîner, il faut faire 30' de voiture pour pouvoir se restaurer et la réservation reste à votre charge. Concernant le calme évoqué sur le site Web (très bien fait), aucun moyen de rafraîchir la chambre durant la canicule, pas de ventilateur proposé. Nous avons tenté de dormir les fenêtres ouvertes mais l'église, très proche de la maison, sonne 2 fois les heures et les demi heures. Je suis le premier à apprécier cette ambiance de village mais d'habitude les clochers cessent de sonner après minuit. Inutile de préciser que nous avons très mal dormi et ce malgré une literie de qualité. Le petit déjeuner est excellent, nous souhaitions le prendre vers 8h mais Peter nous l’a imposé à 8h30. Nous sommes descendus vers 8h35 et tous les autres clients étaient déjà présents. Je précise que je parle couramment anglais. En conclusion je ne pense pas que la philosophie de maison d'hôtes soit bien intégrée par les propriétaires. Très déçus par cette expérience et ce malgré une très jolie demeure, nous ne conseillons pas cet endroit pourtant plébiscité...
