Marti resort has all the potential to be a top notch hotel, but sadly it’s the basics that currently prevent this from being the case. First the good. We arrived late (around 11pm), and on walking down the long approach road the hotel oozes class, and we were greeted by a staff member to assist with our luggage. The reception area was stunning and check in very easy, and despite our late check in we were able to visit the buffet and make use of that and there was also a nice fruit plate in the bedroom. The hotel boasts numerous swimming pools, and the hotel offers daily games where the staff offer you the chance to take part, but are never pushy. Food and snacks are plentiful and really tasty, there’s something for everyone. Hotel staff are friendly and welcoming The bad, and what lets the hotel down are the bedrooms. Initially as we checked we were really impressed with the quality of the room. However the following day, and having spent more time in the room that was when we noticed a considerable number of issues. Which frustratingly were small attention to detail issues, but there was just so many issues. For example; cigarette burns in the foot stool, substantial amounts of dust and dirt on the floor, leftover items from previous guests, scuff marks on furniture, drawing marks on the walls that had been used for fixing tv unit to wall, gluing shut unused bathroom drawer, filler and sealant visible on doorframe, wardrobes not properly closing. In addition to that we also had issues with the front door not locking properly and the shower head not staying upright, though we did report these issues to the front desk and in fairness they were addressed and resolved. The hotel, its grounds, the staff are great - 5*. However the bedrooms are average at best, and really need some close attention to detail, so can only be considered 2/3*. If the bedrooms can be addressed and improved, then there’s no doubt this hotel could be a real gem
