Grand Aquarium

We have just got back from a 10 day holiday at the Grand Aquarium, This was a kind of experiment for us as we always go all-inc in Turkey, with this being our first self catering trip, and first time in Icmeler, just to see if it was cost effective, so I'll be as honest as possible. We arrived in the early hours of the morning, around 2.30am, we were given a warm welcome and our cases were taken to our room for us by some very friendly and helpful staff, so first impressions were great, however, when shown to our room we were quite shocked at just how small the rooms were, way smaller than they looked on the pictures, this was a one bedroom room in the annex just next to the main hotel, we are a family of 4 with a 7 and 13yr old, and we knew that the kids would have the bedroom and we would have the pull out sofa bed, however, when the sofa bed was out there is no more room...anywhere, it takes up the whole living area, and the only place to put your clothes away is in the bedroom, that's four suitcases worth of clothes in 1 wardrobe with around 10 coat hangers, and there is nowhere to put your suitcases either, so upon discovering this I went back down to reception to see if there were any bigger rooms available, it couldn't be sorted then but we were told to come back the following morning to speak to Saliye, so we stayed packed and did that, this has to be said though, while doing this I asked if there was anywhere we could get some water and milk, and the guy behind reception actually sent someone out on a motorbike to the shop for us which was incredibly helpful of him and was very much appreciated. The next afternoon we eventually caught up with Saliye who is genuinely one of the hardest working, helpful and friendliest people I have ever met, and she managed to secure us a 2 bedroom room for 7 days, this cost us an extra £180 which I thought was excessive seeing as the actual hotel bill was only £330 anyway, but I payed it because I really didn't see us enjoying the holiday crammed into the original room, this room was so much better, having the extra bedroom meant we could at least unpack, although the double bed in the extra bedroom had the hardest bed I have ever slept on, I woke up aching most mornings, and the bedding they give you which is a waffle sheet and a blanket is really not great (in the first room we got the blanket had holes in it too) So that was the first bump in the road, but we were sorted at least. The following week was great even though the weather was not so much, I think we got every season thrown at us, one day it didn't stop raining at all and weirdly, when the rain was bad the water would go out, something to do with the council, this happened twice for a few hours each time which was not ideal, you couldn't even flush the toilets, there were a lot of disgruntled people when this happened but it was no fault of the hotel apparently. Me and my mum stayed at the club aquarium which was absolutely lovely place. The staff are so welcoming especially Eddie he was lovely. My mum got her hair done at the hair dressers in the grand aquarium and she absolutely loves it. She was unsure at first but she trusted Yasin. She said it was the best her has looked. She wants to go back to have it done there again. He was so quick at doing her hair and very professional. Lovely guy. Loved our 6 nights at the club aquarium. It's so peaceful and its a lovely walk to the front. I would return with my family but unfortunately they don't cater a family of 5 in one room. Which is a shame. But definitely recommend this hotel.

This was our second visit to The Grand, having stayed here at the same time last year. Although the weather wasn’t quite as good this time, the experience certainly didn’t disappoint. Sailye and the team go above and beyond to make guests feel welcome – they even remembered us from last year, which was a lovely touch. The hotel is spotless, with cleaners working throughout the day to keep everything immaculate. The restaurant is excellent, offering a wide variety of dishes to suit all tastes. If there’s something specific you’re after that isn’t on the menu, Ali and Mehmet will do everything they can to accommodate you. The prices are also very reasonable. We highly recommend the Desti Kebab! The entertainment is great, even for older children. There are daily activities, and Cedric does a fantastic job keeping everyone engaged. The BBQ and foam party evening was a real highlight – the hotel truly goes the extra mile to make sure guests have a great time. The spa facilities are excellent value, with a full two-hour session available for just £30. We’re already looking forward to our next visit!

1st time in Turkey The Grand is such a lovely hotel any issues you may have is sorted straight away. Very clean hotel staff are wonderful especially Salyie the manager. I had the full Turkish Bath and massage oh my it was exceptional such a lovely experience my skin is so soft. We stayed in a room with Whirlpool these rooms are to the back of the hotel and are not pool view and have plants and shrubs for privacy. We used the Whirlpool a few times and my son loved it. Food in the hotel restaurant is really lovely son loved the crepes with Nutella. There is waiter service around the pool Ali is the main one who comes around he takes your orders and delivers with a smile. Would definitely recommend this hotel We are planning to go back again next year We enjoyed it that much applause all the staff

This hotel is amazing the people are amazing food amazing if you go you will have a good time the entertainment team and manager got me balloons to surprise me for my birthday I recommend this place for anyone and the pool is amazing it was heated and warm

We live holidaying at the grand aquarium it is our favourite hotel in turkey we are currently here on our free week we won on the hotel bingo on our last visit in October The hotel is so friendly and welcoming the staff cannot do enough to help you and make your stay enjoyable The entertainment team are amazing the best in turkey no job is to much for them, they are so good with the children and really make your holiday so enjoyable The restaurant food is really good and reasonably priced and the waiters are so friendly Overall brilliant hotel would recommend
