Flanders Lodge Hotel

Simple and nice hotel in golf court.. alot of parking and convinient for travellers with car..

Mould all over room, mysterious stains, hair and mildew in room, exposed screws on beds, loose ladders on bunk beds, horrendous food some form of cornflake chicken with fried sweetcorn and roast potatoes, hair dryer gets really warm and has exposed wires, I had an allergic reaction to what I'm assuming is the bedsheets. Dated television, gap between you and the cupboard/ceiling is dangerous and heads were hit multiple times

The water is oily, smelly, and salty. I think its from the sewage, because it certainly smells like it. Everything else was awesome! But the tap water DEFINITELY needs to be changed. I am scared that I am going to get sick from it, because it is so suspicious. Sorry 😔

It was probably the worst place iv ever been to. I went on a school trip and the staff there was awful and rude. Food was disgusting. And we had ice cream everyday for pudding. Rooms were ok. The beds were quite comfortable. There were some really weird rules: no talking after 10pm, no swapping rooms, and some more odd things.

We stayed here whilst visiting Belgium to sing with our choir. 120 of us! Yes the dreaded 'coach trippers' The staff were helpful, especially Stefanie and Cecile, who cooked, and managed the breakfast buffet so well. Food was hot and tasty. Lots of choices of hot and cold foods. Local bread and pastries. Served with a smile and, despite the numbers en masse, due to our performance schedules, managed to feed us all! Good location, approx 25 minutes walk from Ypres. Our room was clean and very warm. Towels changed each day and room serviced. Beds were clean and comfortable. Tea and coffee provided plus a small kettle. Please note that the milk is powdered and in small blue sachets- we missed it (thought it was sugar!) until day two but its there. Large hanging space plus shelves available. Hand wash and bath/ body wash is in dispensers on the wall in bathroom. Hairdryer in bathroom. There is a small bar. Very limited wine list (Chardonnay white) or nothing. One type of red but not sure which. Lots of choices of spirits and Beers. Public areas clean and warm. Again, despite the arrival of us in the evenings, en masse, the hotel immediately called in extra staff to aid the lone bar man. Long queues but everyone got served. I had read some poor reviews of this hotel in the past, but we were happy! And I would go back. Thank you to all of the staff.

Hotel is located in an Industrial estate about a 25 min walk to the centre of Ypres. There isn’t a pavment but plenty of places to walk without being on the road. Rooms are cosy enough and buffet breakfast was excellent. Some hot options like scrambled egg and bacon and the orange juice freshly squeezed by the fancy machine was delicious. We left our motorbikes directly in front of the hotel and hoping they are still there. (We are confident they will be!). The one criticism I have is regarding the reception. We went past reception multiple times sorting things out with our bikes and not once did the lady in reception look up and say hello or good evening.
