Hotel De Mar Gran Melia

We enjoyed the hotel's excellent cuisine and services. The friendliness of the staff and the attention they gave to our needs deserve special mention.

My wife and I spent our Pearl anniversary at the hotel yesterday ( 4th July) It was a day to remember. The food was an absolute delight coupled with the impeccable service given by the many staff members we came into contact with. We cannot express enough thanks to the Mar Gran Meliá for everything

Our experience at this hotel was extremely disappointing and fell far below expectations, especially given the brand and price point. The service was consistently poor across the board. During dinner at the hotel restaurant, we had to ask multiple times just to get water and other basic items—only to be ignored for most of the meal. Housekeeping was also a problem. Our room was not made up in the morning, and we had to request service twice before anything was done. We specifically asked for the beds to be separated, which they said would be handled, but when we returned later that night, nothing had been done. Instead of resting after a long day, we had to wait again for someone to come and fix it. Poolside service was nonexistent. No one came around to take drink orders, and when we approached the bar ourselves (despite the pool being nearly empty), the bartender complained that she was too busy to serve us—this was for just three glasses. To top it off, when we inquired about adding an extra room, the quoted price was nearly €2,000 higher than what we later found listed directly on their website. This felt dishonest and left a bitter final impression. Overall, the lack of professionalism, attentiveness, and basic hospitality made this a terrible experience. I would not recommend staying here.

Another fantastic stay at this hotel. This time we took 40 family and friends to celebrate our son’s wedding. The hotel was faultless run by guest experience manager Antia. A special thank you to Ramon and Jaume in reception and Victor at the pool who all work so hard to ensure guest experience is faultless.

This is our 10th stay at the Gran Melia. Needless to say we love it. On arrival you are met by friendly staff and offered a glass of fizz or water. Your luggage is then taken up to your room. The rooms themselves have a great layout. Comfortable beds and a view of the sea, together with comfortable easy chairs from the balcony. The breakfast is truly 5* and again the staff are so friendly. you can sit in or out with amazing views of the sea. Swimming options are also fantastic as they have a pool, an infinity pool and you can swim in the sea directly from the pool and also they have a small manmade beach on an inlet from the sea. There is a spa and there are fitness classes. My husband sometimes uses the gym. All in all it is a 5* hotel throughout. Don't be put off by the chocolate coloured tiles on the outside of the building.
