I booked a surprise trip to Gwahumbe this month for my husband's birthday. The place was beautiful, tranquil and very unique. The food was awesome and the service was excellent. The only problem that we had is that when we arrived there was no electricity which wasn't such a big issue because eventually in the late afternoon around 4/5pm the power was restored. But the geyser however did not switch back on, so when it was time to have a shower and go to supper, we were unable to do so. I then sent them a message and they advised the water should be hot around 7pm which never happened. When I returned from supper around 9:30pm, the water was still cold. I then sent another message stating the water is still cold but there is no staff on duty in the evening, so the geyser situation was only attended to by the owner the next day at 5:30am when she realized the geyser was actually off. I then waited another 3 hours until about 8:30am and there was still no hot water. The owner did apologise for the situation and she she waived the our drinks bill of R 460.
