Villa Mata made our stay in Ios so much better. It’s a beautiful place that is wonderfully decorated and located at the port, which is very close to the main village but still has a peaceful and quiet atmosphere. It also is located right at one of Ios’ beaches and a bus stop, making the whole island accessible from there. The rooms were also cleaned every day. The people working at Villa Mata were incredibly nice. As 5 girls, we felt very safe. On the last night, one of our friends locked us out of our room and fell asleep. We came home at 4 AM and were not able to enter our room anymore. Thankfully, we could call the owner, who made the effort to drive to the place and help us enter the apartment. Thank you again for the wonderful stay! We hope to see you again :) - Bengel

the place is a little quirky and they don't take credit cards, but our room was fine. The owners are pleasant and the location is good. The air conditioning struggled, but it was adequate. I would not hesitate to stay here again. Easy walk from the port

Great place from which to explore the island. Beaches and restaurants at your doorstep. Quaint little hotel with a beautiful garden, run by the most friendly of families. I was pleasantly surprised by the rooms which were kept spotless over the course of our stay. And at night we enjoyed the BBQ facilities, looking forward to returning some day

What a pleasant surprise. It lived up to all the reviews I read. The location excellent, the rooms clean and steeped in Greek Island charm and the garden area a little piece of paradise. Georgia the owner was a real pro and made the time we stayed there a dream. Georgia we loved the Octopus Tree you were right!!!!

The best place to stay in Ios so far! The villa is perfectly located just a short walk from the port and only a few steps from the local beach. Everything you need is within easy reach. The amazing family that runs this business truly goes above and beyond to help with anything you need. I can’t wait to come back soon!

The hotel is very flowery and decorated throughout, making the atmosphere warm and inviting from the first glance. Everything has been thought out to the smallest detail to make it practical and comfortable. The rooms are very nice, very clean and very quiet, they are just super pleasant. The host is very friendly, gives very good advice and is very willing to help (even at 4 am... oops). We felt at home and, as 5 young girls, absolutely safe in this little "residence". All this just 5 minutes walk from a supermarket, 5 minutes from the bus stop that takes you to the village and various beaches, 10-15 minutes walk from the center of Chora and just 2 minutes from the nearest beach. What could be better? We loved our stay at Villa Mata and would highly recommend this hotel. See you soon, I hope! :)

Perfect place to stay on Ios! Clean room, excellent air conditioning, beautiful and well-cared for gardens, and just steps from the beach. Exceptionally friendly and kind host, who was always available for questions and recommendations. Easy to walk to/from the port, too.

Our italian home We’ve been here 3 times and each time is better!! I cannot wait to go back again this August for a wedding! Close to the beach and good restaurants! Lovely family and amazing greek hospitality!! If you want to enjoy the island, stay in villa mata!!

Villa Mata best place ever !! The owner is fabulous, very kind, always good advice. The location is great, close to the beach and restaurants. This is the 3rd time I have come to Villa Mata and certainly not the last For sure the best place on Ios to spend your vacation !!

Fabulous location. Could not believe the friendliness of the host , what a fabulous host with the genuine gift of hospitality. V beautiful and comfortable room at a very good price . The reception area was fantastic, calming and eclectic. What more can I say ! Will definitely use again on our next trip

For the third year we stayed in the well-maintained Villa Mata. The hospitable owner of Villa Mata is Lambros, he is very friendly, helpful and always nearby. The apartment is very nice, equipped with a safe and TV and is cleaned daily. The room is spacious, the bed is comfortable, the bathroom is luxurious and the room has a nice balcony with a kitchenette. There is a beautiful garden with trees, flowers, cozy lighting and a communal kitchen with everything you need to prepare a meal. The location is perfect, just behind the beach of Yialos, close to the cozy port and near the vibrant village. We immediately booked again for next year!

Our home in ios This is the 3rd time we visit ios and of course 3rd time we stayed in villa mata!! Lovely hosts, lovely accommodation, lovely atmosphere, lovely feeling of hospitality!! Nothing but good things about this place!! Room, facilities, location!! See you guys next year!!

The villa is situated in a strategic place, near the port with beaches at just a few minutes away, restaurants and minimarket. It is also really close the village since the bus stop is just 3 minutes away. Lambros, the owner, is very hospitable, nice and open to give any kind of recommendations.

Villa Mata is a very welcoming, family run place, the one you want to find when you arrive after a long trip. We stayed here last year and have booked again for August 2023. The position is absolutely convenient. 5 minutes walk from the port and 10/15 minutes walk (uphill) to Chora. The room was spacious enough, well organized and very clean, but the best thing you'll find is the atmosphere. Just unique. Lambros the owner is friendly and ready to help you for anything you may need. No doubts, we really loved staying here.
