Hotel Continental Ischia

This hotel just has too many foibles. Parts of it are great, while some are just poor. The good Some of the food was out of this world - my rabbit was superb The thermal pool was lovely The health club treatments were excellent The staff and service are pretty good The not so good The noise in our room from the nightly entertainment was horrendous. We were offered an alternative but it was smaller and had twin beds 600 is a very small room - avoid The foot was erratic - while some was brilliant, my wife had to send her dinner back twice as it was cold The location is not great - you are 25 minutes walk from the coast and a good drive to the port Information No pool towels were provided You will also need a swimming hat to use the pools (or busk it with a shower cap)

Lovely quirky hotel with superb pools in large grounds. We spent several days relaxing and making use of the pools and spa. Very clean throughout. Must mention Christian who has great customers service skills and made evenings even more enjoyable Rooms a good standard. Bar reasonably priced. Breakfast was a little limited though those with a sweet tooth won’t be disappointed. We stayed B&B and found local restaurants and cafe’s reasonably priced too. Plenty to do in Ischia for 1-2 weeks and easy to get around on public transport. If getting a taxi be sure to haggle on price first, they’re eye wateringly expensive. Mossie protection a must, even so we’ve never been bitten so much! The journey here and home is a bit of a hard slog though Ischia and The Continental Terme reward you for your efforts.

This hotel is lovely ,all the staff are hardworking,helpful and polite . The grounds and pool areas are beautiful ,it is like an oasis away from the busy road. George who looked after the pool area was so friendly and helpful ,ensuring guests were well looked after Ischia is a beautiful island ,I would have no hesitation in returning and to this lovely hotel.

Very disappointed for the price we paid , Good - Waiters in the restaurant were very efficient, friendly , hard working and professional. Everywhere kept clean Massage relatively good Barbecue evening was the best food all week Bad - Lack of English spoken , lack of information on amenities, local areas , buses etc - the only English notice I saw read Totally Forbidden to fill water bottles up from water station ! Having to wear Swim Caps to use any of the pools , I have never heard of this before of travelling globally for the last 40 yrs ! Although filters in the pool were old and rusty ! Dated bedrooms with extremely small bathrooms and some balcony’s literally looking into bushes . Noise from the evening entertainment goes on up to midnight so we could hardly sleep Breakfast was ok but mainly a very large selection of cakes ( pity some of these couldn’t have been offered as the desserts for Evening Meal Evening Meal , although served to a high standard with trolleys and silver food domes ( abit over the top ) was very disappointing. The Salad bar was the worst I’ve ever seen in a hotel , it was very poor and not much of it either . Main meal was disappointing too and dessert you couldn’t help yourself but choose from 4 and when one ran out your choice got less . Some Reception staff not very helpful or welcoming on our arrival , requested an early morning call at 5am on our day of departure and we never got it ( good job we were up ) Others got Breakfast bags on an early morning check out but not us ! Would I return , definitely not !Or book through Voyage Privé , definitely not .

Luxury stay at a relatively affordable price. High grades for the swimming pools and the overall atmosphere. I can appreciate the oldish looks and the lack of elevators in these low rise buildings as part of the charm. The only suboptimal part was the plumbing in the room, it was not easy to control the water temperature, and the draining was abnormally slow. An additional advice on using the bus (CD, 5, 6) to move between the hotel and the ferry stop at the port, and avoid the ethically handicapped local cab drivers.

Hotel Continental Terme is an oasis at the dusty end of Ischia Porto. But beware, it is an old hotel, and showing age. One excellent receptionist deserves thanks - Marina helped us solve a reservation problem with couresy and efficiency.
