Excelsior Belvedere Hotel & Spa

Another amazing visit to the only hotel we would ever stay at on Ischia. Location is perfect, in a quiet part of the area with amazing restaurants either side whether towards Argonese castle or down to the port. But, it is the staff that shine in this hotel. Everyone of them are ambassadors to the ethos of the hotel. We have visited for 3 separate weeks now over 5 or 6 years, and cannot rate it high enough. All the areas of the hotel are immaculate, the housekeeping team work tirelessly to keep it pristine. The pool areas and the private beach are oasis of tranquility. Great cocktails from all the team but Enzo does some great ones ! Doesn’t hesitate. Just book and enjoy and then be drawn back to it again and again.

We had a wonderful stay at this hotel, our room was perfect, with a beautiful view. We loved the pools and spa too. In spite of my husband needing medical assistance with a knee injury, we had a great holiday. The staff were all so kind and helpful when we needed advice and I would particularly like to thank Branka and all the staff on the front desk (I don’t know all the names), for all their advice, help and concern about his welfare. Thank you all so much. We hope to come back again.

Such a lovely old world hotel. Beautiful rooms and grounds. We had extremely hot weather and I'm happy to say the AC worked very well. We were very lucky to have a large room with a sea view and a balcony. I loved the tiles and the general feel of this room. The pressed sheets were a treat also. The hotel is a beautiful example of days gone by. Elegant and lovely. The breakfast (included with the stay) was very good and there really wasn't a thing that wasn't available to you. The beach club of the hotel is private and there was never an issue with getting chaises and umbrellas. Lunch at the beach cafe was very good but we found a beach restaurant right next door that had lighter items available. The large pool in the afternoon was a silent and rejuvenating treat for us to unwind and read or nap. We had dinner in the hotel a few nights. It was very good and you could dress up a bit to feel special. The location is excellent and very easy to walk into town to explore, shop, have a meal or people watch. Bring flat shoes! The staff at the hotel was wonderful. Especially Mr Alessandro who takes obvious pride in the beauty of the place and is very knowledgeable and charming. A truly amazing host! The front desk was really helpful in recommendations for restaurants and general info. The Belvedere Excelsior is a 5 star hotel that lived up to the hype.

Loved our stay here. They excelled at everything. Staff was wonderful and welcoming. Rooms clean and a good size even with a rollaway bed. The closets in the room are my favorite - large with drawers for unpacking. Beds comfortable. Location was great. Centrally located and we walked to most of our activities. The private beach was fantastic - no rocks! Pool was also a favorite and the landscaping of the grounds was stunning. We are so sad to leave tomorrow. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay here and highly recommend.

We were lucky to have a full week stay at the Excelsior recently. The location is excellent, an easy walk to Ischia town/port with many restaurants and shops. Check in was quick, and efficient, friendly. The room was lovely, with a large balcony overlooking the main pool, and beach, with amazing views of the sea, which is very close. There is also a table and chairs on the large balcony. The housekeeping was meticulously clean, and the room well appointed, with a nice dressing/closet small room. But the grounds and pool: WOW. Not sure how many acres, perhaps 3 or 4, but there are no less than 4 pools, including the main large, warm pool. They all have different areas and characters. The plants and trees are just beautiful, like a botanical garden. There is also a beach: not huge, but very nice and lots of loungers, we never had an issue finding a lounger. Towel service, drinks, and a restaurant at the beach including lounge side food and drink service. The beach is sandy, and the water beautiful and clear. The staff really make the hotel though, they are friendly, attentive, hard working and just really nice. A special mention to Sarah at the beach, who was amazing, and Nicoletta at the front desk. Also the hard working excellent piano player, who brought life to the salon/lounge areas every night. The front desk is a great resource, and helped us book taxis, restaurants, etc. We are coming here again: Ischia is like a big garden of Eden, and this hotel is even better. Trying to work how to come here next year!

The staff is welcoming and helpful. The service was exceptional. The property is lush and beautiful with multiple seating areas, all with breathtaking views. Our room was immaculate and comfortable. We spent 3 nights, but plan to return for a longer stay.
