Lews Castle

I wanted to gift my family the experience of a stay at a castle in Scotland. Lews Castle did not disappoint. It’s such a beautiful castle set amidst lush surroundings and a great view of Stornoway Harbor. The apartments and rooms were so beautiful, well decorated, so modern and functional, yet homely. It was stocked even with books, games and everything that made this home away from home. But it’s not just the beauty of the castle and the modern rooms that we love. The service was A1. What I would genuinely consider the epitome of Scottish hospitality under the leadership of its General Manager Christina Smith whose positive vibe and desire to delight has inspired her staff from the shop to the cafe to render the same excellent service. I am so thankful for their making Lews Castle the highlight of our vacation in Scotland.

Both Lews castle itself, the surrounding grounds and the hotel rooms are beautiful. The staff were exceptional. From the cafe staff to the night porters the customer service was outstanding. Would absolutely recommend a visit/stay.

A small group of us had Afternoon Tea in the Castle recently to celebrate the birthday of my niece. We were treated like Royalty!! We had a room all to ourselves and the food was fresh and delicious- too much to finish in one sitting. Christina was so welcoming and staff were attentive. We will be back.
