I was very excited for our stay here hwiwber we had a disappointing experience with poor communication and no accountability
I don’t normally leave negative reviews, but our experience really fell short of expectations and needs to be shared.
We arrived at the hotel late at night after a long journey, only to be told there was no booking under our name. This was despite having a confirmed reservation through Trip.com with updated arrival dates. I showed the staff member multiple confirmation emails, and I even translated one into Turkish to help, but we were repeatedly told there was no booking, with no real attempt to help or investigate further.
There was a clear language barrier, but the issue wasn’t just communication. It was the lack of care or basic hospitality. We were eventually given a room that wasn’t what we booked, with a vague promise to fix it the next day. There was no apology or acknowledgement of the stress this caused.
The following day, we were moved again, but the new room still lacked a key feature that I made sure it had, and we specifically needed (a microwave). I asked for some form of compensation or goodwill gesture via trip.com for the inconvenience, but the hotel has refused.
To be fair, the same staff member helped us carry our luggage to the taxi on our final day, which we appreciated. But that small act doesn’t undo the initial treatment. Even a simple apology would have gone a long way.
Trip.com were brilliant, and they did their best to advocate on our behalf. Unfortunately, the hotel took no responsibility and showed no interest in making things right.
Mistakes happen, and we understand that. But how you treat your guests in difficult moments speaks volumes. Sadly, we wouldn’t stay here again.
