Bassa Maina Villas & Suites

This place is absolutely stunning. Nothing has been left to chance. Our suite - Casalore - was exceptionally well fitted out and large. The pool was perfect. The views stunning. Service, from check in to check out, was perfect. What works quite well is that the resort doesn't have many rooms, but they are all spread out over multiple levels. One some days we didn't see another guest, other than at breakfast. If you would like total relaxation, come here. It would have been nice if Limeni or Aeropolis were within walking distance. They are not, but driving is simple and easy enough (5 mins each, max), and there's a reliable taxi to both (15EUR and 20EUR each way, respectively).

This is a beautiful hotel in a magnificent location with extremely helpful and professional staff.I was there for a wedding weekend and must congratulate everyone involved in taking care of the guests:from the chambermaids and gardeners to the lovely receptionist Angeliki who was so helpful and the delightful Sophia who served our scrumptious breakfast ever morning. We were all very happy and content to have spent the weekend in this magical place.I highly recommend Bassa Maina. Thank you to everyone for making our stay so memorable!

Situated ideally between Areopolis, a picturesque village at the western side of the central Peloponnesian "leg" and Limeni, the wonderful historic fishing village, Bassa Maina blends with the environment. The villas and the main building are made of stone and their roofs are constructed according to the traditional customs of Mani of the yesteryears. Elevation is around 140 metres. There are 9 villas, each configurated differently, but with the same level of finishing quality and class. The view from their balconies is breathtaking, providing 180 degree vision. All shades of blue is an understatement. The sea, from cyan near the coast, to deep blue where they meet with the sky. The "deafening sound" of silence is broken only by the remote melodic and rythmic echo of a distant fishing boat or a "fast and furious" speed boat battling the waves when the sea is rough or just surfing during calm waters. Some villas offer private jacuzzis correctly set at 35C and carefully cleaned and sanitized. It's the perfect soothing relaxation overlooking the sea and the sunset. Internet is steady and covers the whole property. The swimming pool is nicely situated next to the bar and breakfast area. At 4mX10m and 1,5m deep it's perfect for cooling down and enjoying a refreshing swim if someone doesn't want to drive to nearby Limeni 5' away. All the staff is very polite, eager to assist, friendly, yet discrete. Anastasia, the young, natural red haired, charming assistant to the General Manager and Owner, Eleni K, will welcome, meet and assist you. Dinner was lovely, just after the sunset with the villas and the main building being illuminated and engulfed by a warm appealing light. The background music was carefully chosen and the volume was correctly set to be enjoyed trully in the background. All guests seem to respect the serenity offered and they keep their conversations at "low decibels" 😜 I strongly recommend the complex and I am looking forward to spending more days next year.

This place was absolute luxury. We stayed in the Alta Maria Suite - it was a very large room, with a large bed, comfortable bed and seating, large bathroom that had a great shower, kitchenette type area. The room was very modern and bright with nice views. This room was cheaper than others so not as good views as the other rooms but still spectacular. There are nine villas in the place, so it is very quiet and peaceful. The grounds and gardens are spectacular. The buildings are beautiful. The pool is very clean. There wasn't really seating around the pool with shade though during the day. The restaurant area and terrace were really beautiful places to sit. We ate at the restaurant on one of the nights - the food was fine - not amazing, but fine - but the views and sunset and setting was spectacular and made it worthwhile, though there are a lot of bees! The only downside was when ordering drinks etc from the cafe/bar there was no menu provided despite trying to ask a few times so we just had to say what we wanted without knowing what is available or what the price is. In the end the prices were reasonable but if we would have known this before we may have ordered drinks more often during our stay etc - menus with prices should be around for all to see, particularly considering that they offer room service too but again one does not know what is available. The hotel is a short drive to Aeropoli and also to the beautiful village of Limeni, one does need a car, there is parking and it is all inside a very secure area. The landscape and setting and views are really spectacular and peaceful and it's definitely worthwhile staying here and I would highly recommend it. It's obvious that the owners are perfectionists as everything is so pristine and clean and manicured.

Ίσως το καλύτερο ξενοδοχείο που έχω επισκεφτεί στην Ελλάδα. Η θεα είναι συγκλονιστική, η αισθητική του ξενοδοχείου άριστη και η εξυπηρετηση όλων των ανθρώπων ευγενική και φιλική. Νιώσαμε σα στο σπίτι μας με παροχές υψηλού επιπέδου. Το δωμάτιο μας Belvedere ήταν μεγάλο, με δυο χώρους, μεγάλη κρεβατοκάμαρα, πλήρως εξοπλισμένη κουζίνα και μοναδικό μπαλκόνι. Το πρωινό πάντα προσεγμένο και με φρέσκα υλικά και το φαγητό ότι και να δοκιμάσαμε ήταν νοστιμότατο. Πραγματικά δεν βρήκα τίποτα μείον σε αυτό το μέρος και σίγουρα θα το επισκεφτούμε ξανά!

Spektakulärer Blick auf das Meer, sehr geschmackvolle Architektur, hochwertig ausgestattete Villen mit großen Terrassen, persönlicher Service, gutes Essen, angenehme internationale Gäste. Mit Limeni und Areopoli schöne Orte für Ausflüge in der Nähe. Anreise mit Auto ab Athen Airport hat bei uns ca. 4 Stunden gedauert. Auto erforderlich. We love it!
