Jambiani Villas

When our first choice of lodging, near Paje, was not available, we settled on Jambiani Villas – and were so happy we did. After all of the hustle and bustle we experienced in Arusha, and the market near Stone Town, it was a relief to stay at such a quiet, peaceful and gorgeous place. And the staff made us feel so welcome. We can’t say enough about Bana, Agata, Aziz, Hans, Daniel (our Maasai “security guard”) and the rest of the staff. They made our stay that much nicer. We stayed in the 2 bedroom villa just steps from the beach, restaurant and pool – so convenient, and really lovely. The upstairs suite has its own air conditioning unit, and a balcony which overlooks the Indian ocean and a few padded lounge chairs shaded by thatched-roof coverings that provided needed shade. While children are certainly welcome, there is far less to keep them entertained than other resorts on the island. Zanzibar is hotter than the mainland, but the ocean breezes keep the restaurant and rest of property very comfortable. They have a small but lovely menu and a daily menu and drink specials that changes daily. I enjoyed most of what I ordered there, with the highlight being a lovely buffet of Swahili traditional meals (all delicious) and a performance by local Maasai men showing some of their tribal dances. Bring swim shoes if you want to walk in the water at low tide (sea urchins and coral).

Jambiani villas comprise 3 separate sections. We were given a room in a noisy section which spoiled our stay. Our section was next door to a beach bar which plays noisy loud music from 12 midday to 11 pm at night. Building works were also going on at 2 houses either side. Otherwise this is an ok place.

The resort is spread over 3 locations in Jambiani. Each location has a small number of villas / apartments so it remains intimate. Each location has a pool and is beachfront. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Our villa was comfortable, clean and spacious with a small kitchenette with daily housekeeping. Aircon and ceiling fans kept us cool and WiFi generally worked quite well though slow download speed. Breakfast was included, buffet style plus egg dishes cooked to order. Lunch and dinner was also good with specials that changed each day. Food and drinks can be delivered to your villa or you can eat in the terrace restaurant which is located in the middle property. For us that meant a 10 minute walk either along the beach or through the village which we enjoyed. We would definitely stay here again.

Great villa perfect for a family of 4, rooms are spacious and you have your own personal space, we shared a pool with the other villa but lucky for us it was empty for 2 days so we had the pool to ourselves, the beach is not private so you get all the locals hanging out next to the villa and they sit on the steps which take you down to the beach, they are completely harmless and mean no harm at all, it just feels slightly awkward, but there is always someone from the villa always around to reassure you, there is plenty of food choices we did room service 2 nights as we just wanted to chill and relax plus it was a little walk to the restaurant, only downside is there is no tv or phone in the villa so to order the food you had to go to the reception, pool was kept clean all throughout the day and housekeeping were great, you have your own kitchen and fridge too

Jambiani Villas was a very great place to stay. It has one of the friendliest staff you can ever find. They keep it very clean and they help organise tours for you with trusted agents in Zanziba. The meals were very delicious. Will return here.

Located on the beatiful sandy beach of Jambiani, a nice spot for sunset. Spotless & well equiped villa’s. Great & smiley staff, helps you to organise all your trips. Tasty local & international food with a twist, barbecue evenings bring great vibe!

I cannot say enough about how much we loved this place! The apartment was so clean and comfortable. The staff is truly wonderful, they are all so helpful and friendly. Agata really cares about making everything perfect. Aziz is so good at making you feel like a special guest. I can’t name them all but they all get a high five! We were in the south location, the middle location was the restaurant, a lovely little beach walk to access. Or walk on the street if the tide is too high. The food was ALWAYS beyond our expectations. We didn’t try any other restaurants because we didn’t want to miss out on La Shira’s delicious food. Zanzibar is very safe to walk around everywhere. Not once did I feel unsafe. People are genuine and friendly. It’s a long way from Canada… but I will not hesitate to stay there again. I miss them already!

I stayed at this accommodation for 3 days. It was the most comfortable and enjoyable time I've had during my time in Tanzania. Friendly staff, delicious breakfasts and dinners, adorable cats, clean and spacious accommodations, and stunning scenery. Thank you for giving me wonderful memories. Jambiani Villas provided an incredible, tranquil retreat for our family of five! Over the course of five days, we basked in the hospitality of the hotel staff, who were absolutely fantastic. Their warmth and eagerness to ensure our stay was perfect truly stood out. Not only did they assist us in arranging all five of our excursions, but they also organized transportation to and from each activity. Even after we had checked out, they continued to support us with our excursions in Stone Town. The rooms were not only beautifully appointed but also incredibly comfortable, offering stunning views. The daily breakfast, included in our stay, was delightful, and the dining options for lunch and dinner were equally impressive. Without a doubt, Jambiani Villas is the ultimate destination for those seeking a peaceful and rejuvenating retreat."
