Iberostar Waves Playa Gaviotas All Inclusive

Still dreaming of my stay at Iberostar Waves Playa Gaviotas—sun, sea, and seriously good vibes. Huge love to Danny & the animation team for bringing the energy every day, and the Star Prestige crew for making everything feel so special. Vegetarian-friendly, sparkling clean rooms (like, spotless), and walking distance to cute shops and local vendors. I picked up some one-of-a-kind art and handmade jewelry—such a special touch to the trip. Already planning my return!

A Beautiful Iberostar hotel overlooking a long Sandy beach.An Ideal winter or early spring chill out destination. We stayed here from 22 Feb until the 2 of March and had good weather. We stayed in a Star Prestige room in a priority location,which over looked the infinity pool and the fantastic beach beyond.The room was Large ,light and spacious.It has ample storage for cloths and a nice bathroom which had a shower above a bath. There was the usual mini bar fridge ,safe, large tv and a coffee pod machine. In the Star Prestige area which is adults only there is a small lounge with newspapers,coffee machines and a fridge with wine and water to help your self too. There is also seating and a large tv. Just outside the lounge there is a bar area to which you help yourself to a wide range of branded drinks both alcoholic and non alcoholic,there are also fresh juices ,snacks and fruit etc. The man who attends to this area also comes around the sun beds with refreshing drinks etc. Breakfast,lunch and dinner are served in the main hotel’s buffet restaurant but star prestige has it own area with in the restaurant. The food is varied and of a good quality. The whole hotel is kept spotless with friendly hard working staff. There is a Tapas bar and the main buffet restaurant. Is also a bar on the 6th floor with amazing views of the pools and the beach,there is also a bowling bar and an entertainment area. Star Prestige rooms have a mini bar and a coffee pod machine but if you want a kettle you have to ask for one at reception and pay a €20 deposit and €10 deposit for the safe key which are both refundable. We could not fault a thing about this hotel and we stayed here 6 years ago in a normal room and also had a love holiday so it depends on what you want and if you think Star prestige is worth it, we enjoyed it and would probably stay here in star prestige again.

Excelent stay with the kids during half term. Great facilities, amazing staff, fantastic entertainment and superb location. It is really good that we could used the sister hotel swimming pool facilities. It could be easily be a five star property with few tweaks such as having a minibar in the room or free use of the safe.

Fabulous 2 week holiday. Off to a great start with cava on arrival, swift and efficient check in and taken to our room by the porter. We had a great sea view on the 8th floor. Room was spotless with huge beds, TV with the main English channels, great wi fi, bathroom with toiletries, bath was a little tired looking but shower was great. Maids cleaned daily and brought us a tray for our travel kettle, coffee and cups. Water dispenser nearby for fresh drinking water. The food was fabulous with great choices, themed nights,loved the fresh grilled fish and meat, Canarian potatoes, salads and delicious desserts. Wine was good and the lady who came round serving sparkling wine each night was a lovely touch.The animation team were fantastic, big shout out to Danny, Julio, Mateus and Samuel and all the girls. Loved the aqua fit sessions, club dance, Sangria workshop and bingo(Shakey,shakey, mixy,mixy) Lots of other entertainment and activities on offer as well. Enjoyed the shows, cocktails in the bar with complimentary crisps/ nuts and casino night.The pool and the hotel surroundings were well maintained and cleaned daily. All the staff were friendly and professional. Overall we had a fabulous time.

Great hotel in a beach front location. Hotel clean and very well managed.. what makes this 5/5 is the team.. the people who strive to deliver the best possible customer experience. Nothing is too much trouble, everyone has a smile and is always looking for ways to help.

Returned from this holiday today. Lots of plus points. We chose not to upgrade to Star Prestige but we were delighted with our spacious room on the third floor. Garden area outside was lovely and secluded, for some really peaceful sunbathing/reading time. The access to the beach was great and the beach is a real wow, great for long walks and soft sand. We found that very few people reserved early morning sun beds around the pool and we could always get some, pretty much any time of the day. The hotel was clean and our sheets and towels were changed whenever needed. The restaurant was great with lots of food choices every day and a selection of wines. The staff were lovely and very hardworking, we were particularly impressed by the staff in the Coronas Bar. The negatives for us were as follows; firstly there is no segregation for smoking! The wonderful views from the Coronas bar were ruined by the constant smoking around you. Smoking is no longer allowed in social areas in England, so it was really hard to accept being in an area where smoking is the norm. Secondly, the dress code for the restaurant was never adhered to. Lots of sports clothes, casual shorts and flip flops. We previously stayed at an Iberostar in Tenerife and dress code was monitored every evening. Basically, there is no point having a dress code if it is ignored. Lastly, the cocktails were a real disappointment! I understand the need for premixing but they were watery and weak with no real flavour or fresh ingredients. The only cocktails made to order were mojitos and they were flavoured with a dollop of syrup. Not nice at all. All said, we did have a wonderful holiday.
