The Bird & Butterfly Inn

My wife and I were looking for a nearby getaway and came across Bird & Butterfly. After reading the reviews, we decided to give it a try—and we’re so glad we did! From the moment we arrived, Mikelyn and Chuck made us feel right at home. They greeted us personally and showed us to our room, which was absolutely beautiful—full of old-world charm and luxurious touches. The bathroom featured a spacious shower and a relaxing clawfoot tub, which my wife especially enjoyed. The king-sized bed was very comfortable and came with plenty of pillows. We spent some time exploring the grounds and were impressed by the peaceful setting. From the main house, there’s a lovely view of the river. The large deck, often used for weddings, turned out to be the perfect spot to relax, catch up on some reading, and enjoy the sound of the nearby water fountain. We also came across several interesting touches around the property—including an EV charger, which was a pleasant surprise. Breakfast was a highlight, especially the “Crème Brûlée” pancakes—absolutely delicious! We’re already looking forward to returning, especially to try one of their Wine Pairing dinners. .

Charming B&B tucked away in a beautiful, peaceful, riverside setting. Accommodating, friendly hosts welcomed me warmly and anticipated every want or need. Gorgeous outdoor spaces and views, beautifully decorated and immaculate rooms, and truly scrumptious breakfast. I strongly recommend adding this gem to your getaway list!

We stayed at the Bird & Butterfly for one night, on our way from New Orleans to Dallas. From booking through to saying farewell, Mikelyn and Chuck did everything they could to make us feel welcome and well looked after. We had a great time at the house, as well as visiting the nearby lake and burger joint. Our room (Little White House) was self-contained with its own bathroom. Everything was of a very high quality and felt tastefully and thoughtfully put together. We couldn’t have asked for more from our stay and would recommend the Bird & Butterfly to anyone!

We went to Lake Sam Rayburn for a fishing tournament/business trip. We needed a place to stay near Overlook Park. We found the Bird and Butterflies and what a gem. We stayed on the 1901 cabin. So nice having coffee on the porch over looking the river in the morning. The breakfast was fabulous. We will definitely be back!

The owners were delightful! Breakfast was delicious! We surely will come back.

Amazing stay all around. We had a team that needed lodging in East Texas and we stayed here. We each had our own room and privacy. It couldn't have been better. And when our business was done for the day, we came back to our escape in the piney woods. It was amazing.
