I booked 2 hotels in this area, for half of the week each. I had chosen them both due to their pools and beautiful looking rooms/facilities.
The staff were incredibly helpful and responsive to my messages on WeChat. However, they admitted it was their first time having non-Chinese guests and there were various issues that they needed to improve. The tea ceremony left my parents confused, as there was no translation tool used, and very little explanation as to the session. In other situations, I have had tea ceremonies that involve explanation of how the tea is made, how it should be drunk, what sort of people drink this type of tea etc. (To overcome the disappointment of this, we were gifted a pack of the delicious tea however).
We selected this hotel based on the pool facilities mostly and were very disappointed to arrive to dirt-filled pool water that had branches and other debris inside. The staff were very apologetic and explained the recent storms caught them unawares. However, little action was taken to clean the pools until I raised this matter. When we went to the second hotel of my choice, they had more pools, all of which were clean and full of water, even though the same storm would have hit them.
The photo shoot was great, and the photographer was excellent. The rooms were comfortable and the seating area was nice. We did not use the sitting area within the pool section however, due to the dirty pool etc.
The breakfast was only served to us on our first day, and then a buffet on the second day. For us, we personally preferred the buffet so that we could select our portion sizes ourselves.
I think over time, the staff will become more confident with foreign guests and this resort will be greatly enjoyed.
