WelcomHeritage Bal Samand Lake Palace

This property was a pleasant surprise to us. Great ambiance, lots of trees and vegetation, lovely bird chirpings in the morning. Good food, good service. Beautiful lake. Never felt like we were in desert state of Rajasthan. Reasonable pricing. Lovely garden for a morning as well as evening walk. You got to be careful about the monkeys.

We arrived quite late night, we could see the grounds looked beautiful. Check in was very slow and not as professional we would want, they actually gave us the wrong room at the start. Our room wasn't the theme we would have expected in Rajasthan, however it was very large and had all the facilities. The worst part was the noise from the club it was absolutely hell!! until 3am it was non stop. Even after we complained they told us they could not do anything about it. This also was made worse by the noises from other guests. The rooms are very close to each other and the noise was just constant. Guests had no consideration for any one else. On a positive the food was lovely and the grounds were beautiful, unfortunately the noise was just unbearable. Not worth the price and luxury we paid for.

Apart from the landscaping, horses and peacock, the experience was a mess. At start, The hospitality team on the front desk was very unwelcoming while the welcome, even after arranging a cake for birthday and and sourcing the local flowers, her tone and her face had no grace, no smile but attitude. This horrible service continued at the open candle light dinner. There were only 3 people service managing 100-150 people. out of which 2 were from the BAR counter. On asking for arranging for 2 extra chair on the table, they ignored for 15 min, until I had to lift those heavy chairs from the other end of the ground to my spot. The Food was equally terrible. Even after specially mentioning them to not make it not spicy, They did the complete opposite. We literally left 2/3 of the food. The french fries which i had already ordered at the room but later choose to eat the diner table' even that got him 15 min to plate it and bring on table. Next morning, assuming it was a bad day yesterday and not their fault, My parents wanted to had tea near the dam, on requesting the 3 extra chairs at the front, he said yes, and disappeared. on requesting the staff who got us tea, he denied, that it's not allowed and he will not do it. Even though last evening there were 15 people sitting there. Even my driver got mugged by the staff, He purchased diner coupon worth Rs.20 but since he didn't had a change, he paid Rs.200 to staff were the staff promised he would give the change back in sometime, and he was not seen the next morning also.... It was my father's birthday and I was really looking forward to a great experience there, but BAL SAMAND disappointed me, even after spending SO MUCH!!

The palace is an architectural masterpiece and is tastefully decorated to preserve the bygone era. The staff is courteous and polite.The lake is pristine and a sight to behold and make sure to watch sunset/sunrise by the lake. Kudos to the team at Bal Samand lake palace.

We went to Jodhpur for Staycation and this Royal Palatial Property made our stay Ecstatic. We stayed mostly in the property as it has many things to explore right from beautiful swimming pool, lake view sitting, stables, mini golf experience and what not.. Someone who loves nature, birds, etc should definitely plan a stay as. A mesmerizing experience of extremely humble staff, good food, nature & impressive palatial room with Antiques. Do plan a visit.

Good hotel in midst of nature , different experience , like you are in middle of secured forest ,lots of peacocks ,birds and serene lake near by enhances its beauty . Dinner in open lawn was also good . Room was small but organized, and washrooms was very organized and clean . Good for person who wants slow and serene pace of life.
