Umaid Bhawan Palace Jodhpur

We were celebrating our parents’ 50th wedding anniversary and we zeroed into Umaid Bhawan Palace as an ideal venue. We were a group of 11 including our parents and 5 kids and we planned our stay from 2nd to 5th Oct 2024. We had planned an elaborate ceremony for the event on 3rd October evening and it was meant to be a surprise for our parents. And it turned out to be far better than we could ever imagine, the experience was simply ethereal. We had a warm ceremonial welcome and were thrilled to know that all our three rooms were upgraded to Royal Suites. After we were comfortable in our well appointed rooms, Rajnandini and Sikander Singh Bhati gave us a very detailed overview the activities in the palace like a curated tour of the palace, a treasure hunt across the palace, peacock feeding, horse riding, cookie making, mocktail making and all amenities for sporting and liesure. Sikanderji gave us a personal tour of the palace & museum, explained the history and shared a lot of trivia. He and his team took special care of us during our entire stay there. Now coming to the elaborate anniversary ceremony which was planned and executed by the hotel staff. It started with a ceremonial turban tying for the gentlemen and chuniri for the ladies in the Heritage Room. Narendra Singh did a fabulous job and the 9 metre turbans were outstanding! This was followed by a royal carriage ride for our parents and the 5 kids happily hopped on. Then we had a ceremonial welcome by Malvika into the palace and our jaws dropped when we saw that the entire palace lawns were decked up only for our event! We then proceeded to the pool side for a vedi ceremony where our parents renewed their vows in a traditional wedding pooja. The entire setup was heavenly and my parents were simply overwhelmed with emotion. After this we proceeded back to the palace steps for a varmala ceremony which was immediately followed by a 30 seconds fireworks show. We then walked on a red carpet which had royal ceremonial guards on both sides and fireworks at every few steps. The Baradari (a white monument with 12 marble pillars) in the center of the palace lawns was decked up for our dinner. This was accompanied by a rajashtani folk music and dance performance. The meal was a sumptuous traditional thali but had four menus – one vegetarian, one non vegetarian, one vegan and a special meal for our father. The entire ceremony lasted for nearly 3 hours and we were pampered by the entire team of Umaid Bhawan Palace. It was a truly royal experience and we actually felt as if the entire palace was decked up only for the 11 of us. Simply unreal! During our entire stay we had some fabulous meals especially local delicacies at Risala. Thanks a lot to Jabar, Narendra Singh, Khanchand, Dhirender, Bhupendra Singh, Hukum Singh, Chef Kush etc. Apologies for missing out mentioning the other members of the staff but the service levels were simply fantastic. One can imagine how pushy 5 kids

We had Dinner at the Umaid Bhavan Palace The chef Shobhit Mathur had Prepared Authentic Rajasthani Thali with local ingredients. The paan ice cream was also good. In drinks the pineapple lemonade was really nice . In Vegetables Gatte Ke Sabzi and the papad Ki Sabzi was really nice

This is the most majestic hotel you will ever stay in in India - and possibly the world! It is an outstanding building with exceptional fit-out and service, incredible gardens, and a quiet and private outdoor pool. Treat yourself to a Royal 1 bedroom suite with Palace View and private balcony - and stay for at least 2 nights - you will not regret it.

We had an outstanding stay. Taj has maintained this heritage property so beautifully. The rooms are outstanding. But the best things are the food and the service. From the welcome and check in, we were treated like extremely special guests. Thanks to Sikandar ji, we had a very smooth and warm reception to our beautiful suite which had an awesome view. The moment he came to know it was my birthday trip, he set up a birthday surprise with balloons and sword, which was smoothly organized by Swaroop ji. A full rathore birthday surprise. Risala the restaurant became like a second home. Outstanding food and whatever you ask for, they will conjure up. Kapil Dixit (always superlative), Gordhan, Karan (packed us a food hamper for our roadtrip to jaisalmer without even us asking), Mahaveer ji ( who packed me a box of chillis when I couldnt find any in the market), Shashank, Raval, Chef Shobhit, Suiville, Aman, Yash (amazing at the bar). And then I got a second birthday surprise at Risala which was very sweet indeed. And there are the palace tours by Sikandar ji. Amazing knowledge of every nook and crany. all of them took personal care of us at every step. Even the check out by rajnandini was excellent. We really didnt feel like leaving. The spa and basement pool are excellent too. I think ankur looked after my husband and he was very happy. This is a beautiful property and the service and hospitality we received has raised even the high standards set by Taj. Thank you all. If I have missed any name, my deepest apologies. The entire team is fantastic.

It was the best stay of my life,entire time was very Joyful,Enjoyed the delicious food with the quality preparation and presentation we got. For the Best quality of preparation,I thanks to Chef Puspendra Ji,Chef Manohar Ji and Chef Sovit ji,preparation was world class.The presentation of Food provided by the Staff Mr Narendra ji,Karan Ji ,Bhupendra ji ,Rajveer Ji and Narendra ji.While entering in the property the bucket of Respect and guidance given by Alka Ji and Malvika Ji was very good…House keeping staff is also very helpful for our kids ,Specially Mr Balwant ji…Overall it was very nice stay,Combination of good staff makes our Dream holidays true.

My stay at this palace was a memorable experience from the moment I arrived I was impressed by the friendly and professional staff who made check in smooth and hassle-free. The lobby was elegantly designed creating a welcoming atmosphere. The room was spacious, clean and well appointed with all the necessary amenities. The bed was exceptionally comfortable ensuring a good night sleep. I particularly appreciate it the attention to detail such as the complementary toiletries and the daily house keeping service which kept the room spotless. The hotel's location was ideal with easy access to nearby attractions or conveniences. The onsite restaurant offers variety of meals and breakfast that was impressive catering to different tastes. At the end I would highly recommend this palace for anyone looking for comfort convenience and excellent service. Thank you
