Everything was good enjoyed my stay so much, AC was working well, staff is nice, breakfast was good.

First of all, the location isn't great: while Melville may not be dangerous, I did not feel very safe there. The flimsy door to my room did not help. There was a safe in my room but it was locked, and when I asked if I could use it I was told that it was not possible. The room itself wasn't very clean and there was not a nice odor to it. Breakfast wasn't very great and there were very few options. Staff was not very helpful, difficult at times to communicate with in English, and check in was definitely not a smooth experience. Most of all, an issue arose after my stay: I left behind some valuables, and I asked for the extra courtesy to send them to a local contact in SA (provided them with all the necessary information). While they said that they would, they ignored me when I asked for updates. Upon asking for updates again a few days later, I received a very rude and confrontational answer when I pointed out all this would appear in my review. So here it is. I don't think I am going to retrieve my valuables any more. In short, I cannot recommend this place for a stay in Jo'burg. I would stay in elsewhere in Rosebank or any other safer neighborhood.

nice staff. Hotel needs work. A bag I had asked the hotel to mind was damaged because of water entering the room I was assigned. My property was damaged. Had the sense this had happened before. The room I was moved into was not ready. Not properly cleaned, lamp not plugged in, no towels. Worse, for a family room, one plug had exposed wire and was suspended off the ground.

Very welcoming, clean guest-house, well located right next to the lively and safe Melville Street. Beautiful courtyard garden. Excellent breakfast, very friendly staff. We had a very pleasant stay and we would be pleased to come back :) !

Great place. We stayed two separate nights as we had flights through Johannesburg. Very comfortable and clean rooms, quaint place, staff were very kind and helpful. Breakfast was great and cooked to order. Right in Melville with good restaurants and bars right around the corner (safe to walk to/from the B&B) It was about a 20-30 min Uber from the Jo'berg airport. Cost of the Uber varied between $12 & $16 USD.

It was a very nice lodge, very friendly and supportive staff cleaners cookers Felt like home after a very long flight Excelent breakfast. Only climbing into the bath was to narrow and not comvertable

we were very uncomfortable with the dirtiness of the room, we found bugs in the bed, in the room, spiders, cockroaches. hair in the bed and a general state of decay. it should cost half..
