The Tyrwhitt Rosebank

We have been living here for several years. The location just can't be better. You're just 150 meters away from Rosebank Mall, restaurants, and doctors. There are a few issues however, one of which is the fire alarm. It goes off several times each night. It seems that the security would rather cancel it instead of trying to locate the issue. The second issue are the lifts, when they break down sometimes it's all 5 lifts! There are no amenities to speak of. Only indoor parking is available. There is no gym or pool. No air conditioning or heating. A restaurant on the ground level is opening any day now.

The apartment I stayed in was managed by Propr and is listed in ***********. The block is made up of permanent residents and short-stay apartments rented out by different agencies. My experience with Propr was awful. All communication was through WhatsApp. I was told to find my keys in a lock box, but the very nice desk staff did not know which lock box, most are placed just outside the apartments. After some time we identified the lock box in a drawer at the front desk. I was given no information about the apartment nor a wi-fi code. I had to ask for the code. Joburg winter is cold! There was a very small completely ineffective fan heater. The floor was tiled so it was freezing. I was told the owners could not supply another heater. The bed had only a mattress cover that was made of plastic and nylon. I asked for an undersheet but was told the bed was made up 'to international standard'. The Netflix subscription expired and I was told a technician would come... no one. I am not a fussy guest and have travelled extensively and am happy with simple accommodation but this apartment was expensive! For the price I think that the things I have mentioned should have been standard. The lack of response to my requests was frustrating. I won't be returning.

Apartment stay over was ok - spent a week. How ever at the door of the reception on the Thursday and Friday phone snatching took place. Guys walks up and grabs the phone and speeds off. The door security should be beefed up or make people aware. The reception security was not phased by the gentleman that was just robbed, because it seems to be a every day thing.

Great apartment with excellent proximity to almost everything you need. Rosebank Mall is very close, restaurants and Gautrain station are also close. The team are exceptional at what they do. Kind, professional and just really nice people! We stayed there for over two months and it was a perfect choice.
