Lynnhurst Hotel

Stayed here in October 2024 for our wedding. The staff could not have been more helpful, Chris in particular was a huge help throughout the wedding day and I highly recommend the Lynnhurst for a wedding venue. Rooms are stunning. Thanks again.

We were a party of four checking in on Friday 20th for 2 nights and were allocated rooms 22 and 23. My wife and I were in room 22 which is classed as an Executive Double room. However, there were a number of things with which we were not happy: - the room was cold but the heating wouldn't come on, I rang reception twice and visited once before coming on an hour later - there was an iron in the wardrobe but no ironing board - no suitcase rack though room 23 had one - no bath mat, and no anti-slip mat in shower - one light bulb out in ceiling - the safe didn't work - no bedside table on one side of bed - two plug sockets not working - ants or fleas in bathroom In addition, in the main bar on Friday afternoon we ordered two drinks. The barman had to change one drink because there was a fly in it. The replacement drink also had a fly in it! Third time lucky - there was no fly. On Saturday morning we were disappointed with the breakfast. There is a better choice at a Premier Inn, and cold plates meant the food was cold after five minutes. The pastries and bread were uncovered and there were no tongs, although tongs were provided on Sunday. Only sliced bread, no rolls. On a table for four there were two pats of butter each morning, and only jam, no marmalade. Small things, but cumulatively set a poor impression. Overall, sadly our stay did not fulfil our expectations of a hotel that claims to be a 'unique boutique hotel' with 'understated luxury in every room'. I have emailed the manager asking for a response.

A blast of luxury with a fabulous room & even better food. The smiling helpful staff could provide lessons to many other significantly more expensive hotels. It is on the flight path but the quality of the stay easily outweighed any downside for us. Welcoming Tunnocks in the room are always a bonus!

Visited the Restaurant for lunch for my Sister Birthday. Only one member of staff having to serve bar & customer tables. Soup was not hot. No sandwiches on menu. Service was very slow. Should have been more than one member of staff to attend to all customers. The young member of staff who was working alone was very pleasant, mannerly & knowledgeable. Disappointing experience.

As previous regular visitors to the restaurant my husband and myself visited for lunch. On entering the restaurant it was totally empty . Changed days - sometimes previously you would struggle to get a table if not booked. Wish we had checked out the menu online beforehand. A very limited uninspiring menu with about 5 choices of starter and main. We shared nachos to start with cajun chicken (extra cost for the chicken) whilst the salsa and guacamole were lovely the chicken was tasteless and not a hint of cajun seasoning. I opted for an open smoked salmon and prawn sandwich for main. This came with a toasted ciabatta bun and a handful of the tiniest prawns and one very small slice of smoked salmon, a tiny side salad and one cherry tomato! I asked to speak with a manager , when he came to see what the problem was , I explained that I was not happy with main and that for £13 was a disgrace to which he replied 'I KNOW' !! He did apologise and I opted for the haddock which frankly was not much better. Also mentioned to receptionist how quiet it was, she said it had been like that for a while. No wonder, needless to say we will not be returning. Very sad as we got married at the Lynhurst and were frequent visitors .

Arranged funeral afternoon tea for close family member at the Lynnhurst on 26/7/24. Staff were extremely accommodating during the booking process and on the day. Food was excellent and plentiful and staff were very helpful. Nothing too much trouble. Thank you

Given voucher for meal which was fine. However on presented with bill for meal the amount was over the voucher value. Went to pay the balance with CASH but was advised WE DON’T ACCEPT CASH!!!!!!! Complained to staff but this made no difference. Fortunately I had credit card and therefore paid balance. On returning home contacted hotel via BOT., as most call centres use this form of communication. However I think top Management’s communication is performed by BOTS as I am still awaiting an explanation from a human. Dont hold your breath for a reply quickly.

Went for some food today after not being to the lynnhust in quite sometime. Checked out the menu online seemed good. When we arrived the menu had changed and was very disappointing as I didn't really like much on the menu and had I of known I would have went somewhere with better options. On a possitve not the waiter today Cameron was amazing and is a credit to the company.

The hotel specialises in being a wedding venue, and does it very well. We stayed for 2 nights as we were attending a family wedding. The wedding itself was very well organised and we had a great time. We had a meal in the hotel, the night before the wedding, and I was impressed by the improvement in the food, since I last ate there, about a year ago. Staff were very good, with a special mention to Cameron who is a credit to the hotel.
