We received the most terrible service I have ever experienced from the night manager, Frances. We were there with a group for a volleyball tournament. On Saturday night, we were trying to have a quick dinner together, and since there was nowhere else to do it, we asked if we could do it in the lobby. The person at the front desk told us we could do it as long as we cleaned up after ourselves. When we were done, I made sure that everything was picked up. We had a group of about 20 people talking, and were told we needed to quiet down. Nobody was yelling, we were just talking. After all, the lobby is a common area, with couches, for people to sit and converse. We left after eating, and that was the end of that. The next evening, some of us adults were hanging out in the lobby, having a drink, and we were told open containers were not allowed in the lobby and we needed to leave. Instead of telling us the situation, and asking us nicely to move elsewhere, Frances was very confrontational from the very beginning. Nevertheless, we left and went to someone's room because there is no public area in the hotel to hang out in. One of our girls accidentally spilled some food in the hallway. Frances yelled at them and accused them of throwing food on purpose. One of the moms came out and apologized and offered to clean up the mess if they had something she could use. Frances said, "No, I'll do it" but it was never done. The mess was still in the hallway the next morning. She told us that we'd been a problem from the beginning, but I'm not sure what she meant, since we never refused to do anything she told us to do, despite her extreme rudeness at every interaction. When my husband came back to the hotel, he stopped to try to have a conversation with Frances, and she refused to tell him what was going on. He never raised his voice or threatened her in any way. He was simply trying to diffuse the situation, and get an explanation of what was going on. She accused him of disrespecting her staff, though all he was doing was trying to talk to them. When he asked how he was disrespecting the staff, she couldn't give him an answer. She could barely put a complete sentence together. She said she had repeatedly asked him "not to go there" although I'm not sure what that meant. He left the front desk since he couldn't have a real conversation with anyone, and went to the room. About 15 minutes later, the police showed up and told him he had to leave. HE DID NOTHING BUT ASK A QUESTION!! He never raised his voice, and was simply trying to talk to the staff. The staff has NO BUSINESS being in the service industry. They are confrontational and rude. They are the worst hotel staff I have ever seen and I've stayed in thousands of hotels in my lifetime. Do not stay in this hotel if you have a group or plan on spending any time in the hotel. This is the worst experience we've ever had at a hotel, and will NEVER stay there again.
