Fives Hotel Johor Bahru City Centre recensioner

If you can’t stand noise then this hotel might not be your choice as is just next to the busy road and with a pub downstairs which I could hear the singing even when I’m staying at the 12th floor. Location and service was good. It will be good if they could provide a moveable shower head rather then the fixed one.

Have been looking for a reasonably priced room in JB close to Komtar.  $50 rooms seem bad and $100+ seems needed for a good room. Was looking through google maps and chanced up on Fives..  The pics looked good and limited negative reviews.  I chanced booking a night which was actually cheaper booking through the Google maps link to trip.com rather than booking direct with trip. Entering the reception, it was well presented, the checkin staff were friendly and there was a convenience store open until 2am, with a bar and live band next door. I was staying on level 10. The corridor was clean and fresh.  My room was very clean, fresh bedding, clean towels, small safe in room, decent size TV but not a great selection of channels. Provided coffee, tea, water, toothbrush, etc… The blackout curtains in the room were good. Woke at 9am and the room was still dark. I’ll definitely be staying at Fives again..

It has a nice location, with just a few minutes' walk from City Square. The room is very clean and has almost everything that you need, except that there is no bar fridge. The breakfast is optional, with just RM30+ top up, which I find it's worth it. All their staff are well trained with very good service and attitude.

Overall still ok for the price paid if just need a 1x night stay only.  Location: great  Breakfast: very avg  Toiletries: shampoo/ shower wash: avg quality  Toilet layout: bad. (Dry area will be wet as no door to block out water; Water flow for shower & toilet bowl are weak too)

The room was excellent this time. I had a bad experience the previous time. It was clean and modern like it looks in the pictures. The staff did not demand for any deposit because it would eat into my cash.

I’m surprised to find Fives Hotel is beyond my expectations. First time staying at Fives hotel and it has so much more to praise. Firstly, location is good as it is located opposite of Komtar shopping centre. You can cross the road from Komtar shopping centre by a traffic light. Secondly, safety is excellent as there is a security guard manning the entrance. You need access card to take the lift to access your room. There is a convenient store just right at the side of the hotel lobby. We stayed in a family room with 1 queen bed and 2 single beds. Breakfast is sufficient to fill your stomach. All in all, it is a relatively good hotel for its pricing as jt includes breakfast. Lobby smells good. I would strongly recommend all to give Five a try. I’ve stayed at most hotels near CIQ area, this is better that the hotel next to Fives. 😊

Everything was perfect. We requested for quiet room  with the receptionist and she gave us the room at highest floor and facing the other side. It is really quiet and we gave good night sleep for 2 nights there. Totally won’t hear the noise from the pub beside. Within walking distance to the kastam. Easy to make a day trip to Singapore.

Very clean and spacious room conveniently located near CIQ/City Square. Bathroom design is a little weird as water would splash into the "dry" area without a door there. Breakfast is modest with a mini salad bar, some hot food, cereal, bread, juices, and coffee! Overall, it was very worth it at the price point!

A great location, suitable for tourists without transportation, but not ideal for those looking for a place to rest because the soundproofing is very poor. We were assigned a room across from the elevator, which seemed to be a space converted from an emergency exit or storage room, split into two. At night, there was loud singing from the bar downstairs, and around 5 AM, we could hear prayers from the mosque. We couldn’t get a good night’s sleep at all. People were walking back and forth in the hallway, and the doors in the neighboring rooms were opening and closing loudly. If you don’t mind the noise and like the location, it’s fine, but if you want to rest, you might want to choose a better place.

Great location. Price was reasonable. Simple breakfast buffet.
