Papillon Belvil Holiday Village

The Good: Generally speaking you get a lot for your money. We paid the same amount for the same week last year in Majorca and what this hotel has to offer is significantly more in every aspect. There is a lot to do here. My children were never bored. The entertainment package is excellent - there could have been more variety as it was largely dance groups, but the quality of them was fantastic. There are live bands, karaoke, discos after the main entertainment which we really enjoyed. 4 of the 5 outdoor pools here are heated which means you can enjoy them most of the year round. Dipping into the unheated pool proved just how much they were heated. My daughter got an ear infection (she is prone to them and this is not a reflection on the hotel) and was in quite a lot of pain. We spoke to reception and 4 hours later there was a prescription delivered in reception for 15 euros which cleared it up and stopped it ruining her holiday. The food, especially at lunch time was good. Particularly the burger bar on the beach front which was outstanding. The animation team were lovely, and quickly learned people's names. A special mentioned to the blonde lady who did the darts (sorry I didn't catch your name as you knew mine!) she was outstanding. The kids club is brilliant - my daughter loved it. The effort they put into Halloween was incredible. There was a desperate party on the tennis court. The Nitpicking: The rooms are small. We moved the mattress of the pull out bed onto the floor as where it was positioned my child would have banged their head every time they woke up. However, given that we only used our room for a quick shower and to sleep, it was not a huge issue. I would probably book a 2 bed apartment if we returned to this hotel chain. The bed are very very hard. However, we rang reception and within 10 minutes they had delivered more pillows and a mattress topper which transformed our sleep! Some cocktails were hit and miss depending on who made them. Our shower was plumbed back to front so we had to put it on the cold setting for hot water. Not a huge issue but it was confusing for the first use! General Tips: Having read previous reviews from English guests I was apprehensive about the way we would be treat, or that no one would speak English and my children would not make friends etc. This is absolutely not the case. Most staff are able to converse well in English and I would estimate at about 1/3 of the guests being English. At no point did I struggle to be understand or understand staff. Take floaties and plenty of sun cream with you. These are available on site but at eye watering prices. The resort operates in Euros. Make sure you take some with you as there are a few extra activities the kids can do. Additionally any medicines needed must be paid for in cash. If you plan on visiting in October, it is very warm during the day but very chilly on a night, so pack plenty of warmer clothes (even a coat) As other reviews h

We had such a great stay here. We travelled with our parents one of which has mobility issues, the hotel were so helpful, they provided a wheelchair free of charge as we had forgotten to reserve one. They staff at the restaurant and bars were so attentive to her needs, she had been worried about going on holiday before then, but now can't wait for next time. The rooms were perfect for us the cleaning staff are great. Fridge is constantly stocked. Only thing for me was our bed was rock hard and caused me some back pain but that's a me thing nothing to fault with hotel. Be advised that although it does say no reserving of sun loungers this is not actually enforced so be prepared, especially at the heated pool where the slides are that you may not get a lounger after 8:30am, most of them have been reversed before everyone went to breakfast. Again this is just something that may be an issue for others with smaller children All in all fantastic place fantastic staff.

There is literally nothing I could fault with this hotel, they can’t do enough for you and the all inclusive is the best I have ever experienced.. you definitely won’t go hungry!! Fantastic entertainment in the evening from the kids mini disco to the shows and parties hosted around the pool. Exceptionally clean everywhere and the staff all work so hard. It’s wonderful, hope to be back next year ❤️

First visit to this amazing hotel it won't be our last. We absolutely loved it. We had high hopes and we weren't disappointed - from the minute we arrived, the staff couldn't do enough for us. The hotel and the grounds are absolutely stunning. So well kept and spotlessly clean. The aesthetic of the hotel is just stunning. We loved all the 3D panelling. It looks so good. The staff work tirelessly to attend to your every need. Shout out to the main restaurant and the Blue Bar were they're constantly rammed but still smiling and doing everything they could to make your holiday seamless. The food was the best we've had in Turkey (sometimes it could have been hotter) but always so tasty. The branded drinks make all the difference and are a must for us. The Italian a la carte was wonderful. There was plenty sundbeds to go round. Many guests opting for the ones at the private beach. If I had one small con, we felt the garden rooms were very small. We had 2 as our kids are older but I would imagine a family of 4 in 1 room would be a very tight squeeze. Well done to the management and every member of staff who've absolutely nailed this hotel. We'll 100% be back for sure as it was just brilliant.

I booked this resort based on the sheer amount of 5* reviews so I feel obliged to leave my own in hope it convinces another family to book this tremendous resort. I’ll go into more detail but the standout reasons for 5 stars are the food, drink, staff & kids entertainment. This was our first time at an all inclusive resort in Turkey and can definitely say it was up there with Mexico. Rooms As a family of 2 adults & a 2 year old we stayed in a club room which was external to the main hotel building, about 2 min walk from reception and 3 min walk to the pool area. The room was absolutely fine for us, we only spent time in here getting ready on an evening and sleeping. Id probably recommend a family of 4 to upgrade though as it would be tight with 2 kids. Mini bar topped up daily with beers, soft drinks & waters. Pool area We spent our full week on sunbeds by the main water slides and a stones throw from the kids club (only reason we didn’t stay next to the kids club was because you aren’t allowed alcohol in here). The kids pool was amazing, plenty of water slides to keep them busy. The main water slides are also really good fun even for adults. Plenty of pool options which are all great, perfect temperature to cool off but warm enough that you can sit in it, and always extremely clean. Food & drink The food & drink was the best I’ve ever had at an all inclusive. The options at breakfast, lunch & dinner are truly outstanding and the quality is 5*. Blue bar buffet & burger house were our lunch options of choice. Premium alcoholic drinks really were premium. I usually find draft beer at all inclusives to go flat quickly so the option to have cold bottles & cans of Efes was great. Cocktails & spirits all made properly by the professional bar staff. Entertainment The night time entertainment was by far the best we’ve experienced at any hotel we’ve stayed at in the past. The kids mini disco starts on stage at 8:30 followed by a dance production at 9ish which quality wouldn’t be out of place in the west end (there were 1 or 2 that we found a bit boring but still couldn’t knock the level of quality). Standout was the Michael Jackson performance. These shows went on until around 10pm and the entertainment usually continued elsewhere with live music of some kind, 1 night there was a mini carnival which consisted of carnival games (ring toss etc) with the best sweet/candy floss spread I’ve ever seen (all included!) Our daughter was too young to be put in the kids club but she was allowed to use all the club facilities which were great. The kids club team looked like they never stopped from morning right up until the entertainment on a night. Staff The staff were absolutely amazing and extremely hardworking. The resort grounds were always spotless and the staff are always extremely friendly. This hotel has so many lovely points to review. There are some negative experiences we have had however there are far more positives than negatives. But for balance it’s only fair to raise those not so good points also. I’ll get them out of the way first. We stayed mid September for 10 days. On Day 3 €7.50 Euros went missing from our room. Assuming this was taken by either the cleaner or the person who re stocks the mini bar daily. The money was left near the mini bar in the room and was possible taken believing that we had left it as a tip. Either way, it shouldn’t have been taken. Didn’t raise this with the hotel as for €7.50 it’s really not worth it. Room comes with a safe which we used for larger amounts of cash/passports etc. I’d recommend people make use of the safe provided…even for their ‘small change’. On one occasion - on day 5 or 6 we went for a walk along the short beach while leaving our towels and property at a sunbed by one of the pools. We were followed off the beach by security and a lifeguard when we got back to near our sunbed and asked to show a room key to prove we were staying at the hotel. We of course produced the key and the security guy said he didn’t recognise us. In its self it’s not an issue and it is a good thing they are checking. However, we never saw any other guest at the hotel asked like we were. How the security guy can claim to remember every face that walks along or uses that beach daily is beyond me. As I’ve said it’s not huge issue - we just felt singled out and having to produce our room key in front of other guests was slightly embarrassing. If they hotel have an issue with guests from other hotels using the facilities at the Papillon Belvil then either allocate wrist bands or be consistent and carry out random spot checks. Singling out a couple who’d paid good money doesn’t reflect well on the hotel. A number of times, at the busiest bar by the main pool while waiting for drinks I was ignored by those working behind the bar while waiting to order a drink. Not sure if this is to do with being English (majority of guests were Russian) or due to maybe me not automatically tipping bar staff and others may have been? Again - doesn’t reflect great on the hotel. The final negative point, and I must stress this is nothing to to with the hotel or no fault of the hotel, but KIDS. I’ve never been to a hotel where there have been so many under 5’s. Not only are there more kids that I’ve ever seen before but the majority of them seem to spend their whole holiday screaming, crying and disrupting the peace of other guests. We had this constant noise around the pool all day and in the restaurant in the evening. We tried sitting at the relax pool which is for over 18’s however the only sunbeds we could ever get was on the grass area over looking the beach. So while the pool area was quiet - there was screaming children just feet away on the beach. Even our two trips the the A la Carte restaurants were tainted
