Red Roof Inn Kalamazoo East - Expo Center

I am really happy to return to this place because the rooms are clean and the staff are the most friendly and respectful of all members. You are close to US 131. The staff is very helpful when you need them. They have best coffee all day in the office.

My wife and I have stayed at this location for the duration of our visits to her sister for the past 3 years having a pleasant experience. I'm guessing they are under new management due to our past two stays and change of staff. Last stay waited 25 min for staff member to come from back office and unlock lobby door to check in with an extremely unpleasant additude. This time after many attempts to reach front desk for a simple request regarding the motion light and told there's nothing they could do. I said well is Jill working, she usually comes down and does something to temporarily disable or cover.....was cut off and told well she's fired and hung up on. A perfect example that an employee with impeccable customer service and personal skills can make the guests stay a positive experience regardless. You can't run a successful business treating paying customers this way. We've booked somewhere else for our next stay and will never stay here again.

I booked a room at this hotel because it was close to my house, and I was work done on my house. I work third shift and needed a place to sleep during the day. Room was small but clean enough. Staff extremely rude. I worked my 12 hour night shift and went to hotel to sleep. After sleeping about two hours I was awakened and told it was time to leave. I tried to explain to front desk but attendant was super rude. "I don't understand. What has that got to do with me? Check out a half hour ago." Would never recommend and will not return.

We decided to save money because we were only going to check in near 11 pm and leave in the morning, so came here. Forgot that it is not a hotel, the rooms all face the exterior. No elevator. First room had dirty bedspreads and obvious stains on the sheets (eewww) and when he tried to plug in his tablet, there was a huge spark and the room went dark. Overnight clerk was a sweet young woman, she gave us a different room, stating" That doesn't usually happen there, that's the recently renovated side." Bedspreads and sheets looked clean, but had to laugh at what we found in the bathroom. When we checked out, the nearby security guards reeked of ****, I pointed out the icky sheets and bedspreads, and the guy barely looked at me. 100% certain my concerns ended there. Oh well! Had a good laugh over the bathroom toilet paper holder on the "recently renovated side."

Just no. Got into town with reservations for another hotel after arriving was told they were “overbooked” and I had no where to stay after driving 4 hours red roof inn was my only option to have a place to stay at midnight and honestly wish I would’ve just slept in my car instead. On arrival front desk lady was very nice then everything went downhill. Room was filthy walked in and immediately saw stains on the bed and chairs, floor wasn’t swept in weeks, dents all over the door and refrigerator and towels were full of stains and literally black. I have never felt so gross in a place in my life. Ended up leaving the next morning after just one night and was still charged for two full nights. Absolutely terrible experience. Please do yourself a favor and stay anywhere but here!!
