Turtle Bay Boutique Hotel

We watched the sunset on this bay. The turtles swim right next to you in the sea. The sea bed is a little rocky. Just be aware. We had the best day on this beach, plenty of little restaurants to eat and drink too. Check more on my Instagram @lovestotravelclub

The hotel is really beautiful with a lot of attention to detail. Everybody was super friendly and helpful, rooms were really clean and spacious. The place is ideal for a romantic hideaway for a couple for 2 or 3 nights. If you are travelling alone, the place is very quiet and maybe a bit lonely. The whole area there is very quiet, only a handful of other hotels around. For the next town you need a TukTuk. But there are some tour organisors around and you can do a lot of day trips and the manager is really helpful in organizing it for you. They have a Spa with ayurvedic treatments and they offer Yoga classes. The restaurant there is ok but there are a few other restaurants in walking distance that offer more tasty local food. You just need to have a good excuse, they do like to let you go to have dinner somewhere else

It's the kind of place where you immediately feel at home, yet pampered. The hotel is set it a coconut grove just off the beach with the crashing waves providing the back drop. Early morning and evening you can stroll along the 7km beech, an exceptional experience to have such a beautiful place to yourself. Wonderful staff, great rooms and excellent food. In the evenings you could opt to dine in the garden by the pool, very romantic. An early morning boat trip around the Kalametiya Bird Sanctuary is a must.

What a lovely peaceful location! And the beach right out the back with amazing views, particularly at sunset. The food was wonderful, we had a few meals here and the menu was delightful. As we the large breakfast spread! The room was lovely and spacious, and very clean. Staff were fantastic - couldn’t do enough for us, helped us book a couple of extra excursions, and had a laugh and joke with us too. Thank you!

Wow, wow, wow! We have just spent a week at this fantastic small hotel and, if I could give it more than five green dots, I would. Firstly the location is absolutely stunning. Every morning I had to pinch myself to check I wasn’t dreaming as the view was perfect, a palm fringed, empty beach, white topped waves and the sun shining in the blue sky. If you want quiet serenity, then this is the place for you. It is a place for rest and relaxation, reading, swimming and eating delicious food. If you want something to do, there is a little harbour to walk to, a beautiful lagoon which forms a bird sanctuary to visit as the sun comes up, miles of almost empty beach to walk along and, if you ask, the chef will organise a cookery demonstration. The hotel can arrange excursions further afield for you, but they do not push, rather they wait for you to ask. I’ve mentioned the food which was scrumptious. Fresh seafood and fish are bought from the harbour each day and there are Sri Lankan and some western meals on the menu too. Breakfast is a buffet and I recommend asking the young chef to make you a fresh hopper which you can fill from a selection of Sri Lankan dishes. Best of all were the staff. They looked after us so well and really went out of their way to make our stay perfect. They gave us little gifts, cleaned our room twice a day and replaced the drinking water faster than we could drink it! I hope you can tell just how special this hotel is.

We had the most wonderful 3 nights at this peaceful hotel that leads onto the most wonderful beach. We were brilliantly looked after by all the staff. Such a luxurious environment with palm trees in the garden flanking the Indian Ocean. The rooms were spacious and well thought out with a balcony over looking the gardens and sea with excellent amenities. We enjoyed candlelit dinners around the pool, special treats served to guests at 4.30pm and delicious meals. Would definitely recommend for a relaxing get away from it all. Only downside is that the sea is quite rough for swimming.
