My wife and I stayed in this stunning, colonial plantation style bungalow, as our base for exploring Kandy. It is perched on the hillside overlooking Kandy, with sublime views across the valley and easy access to the city by car. Our room was very large, clean and well appointed, with a very comfortable bed. The staff were extremely attentive and hospitable and we were treated more like house guests than paying clients. We stayed on B&B basis, and our breakfast was excellent. One has the option of also having dinner, which we chose to do, having been shown the evening's menu, which is a set menu of 1 option for each of the 3 courses. A limited choice of cocktails, wine and beer is also offered. The food was good, but very pricy for what was being served. The 3 course meal was 40USD per person and a cocktail (using the local arrack liquor) was 12USD and a local beer 7USD. I don't think we realised how expensive this was until we looked back on what our dining costs had been in other lodgings. Our dinner and drinks here were over twice the cost of equivalent in all the other hotels and lodges we stayed in Sri Lanka, which had extensive menus offering a number of choices. So we would recommend this lodge highly for B&B, but suggest that guests consider going into Kandy for dinner, which would require a short taxi ride but offer much better choice and value for money
