Elegant Hotel

We stayed two nights at Elegant Hotel, very welcome after a long drive, check in was seamless and pleasant, Amali on reception personally showed us our room and explained the surrounding area. The gardens are superb and beautifully maintained on a daily basis. The pool is sparkling clean with a beautiful mountain view. We stayed in a Deluxe room which had a beautiful and comfortable king bed, 3 seater sofa, bar fridge, tea/coffee, bathroom is clean and functional. Air con works well and there is a ceiling fan which we appreciated. There is a large sliding door out onto a lovely terrace with mountain views, the room is lovely and bright with elegant drapes. All staff are so pleasant and professional, always greeting you and getting on with their work. A very special thanks to Roshan who provided exceptional service at breakfast and dinner and is such an asset to the hotel, we can’t praise him high enough. Thank you Roshan. We also met the owner of the hotel who is a wonderful human being, he looks after his staff and genuinely cares about them and about the customer experience. He is genuine and you can feel it across all aspects of the hotel. They also organised a surprise birthday cake for my 60th which was very touching. Wi fi in the room is a bit patchy and didn’t work at all in the dining room. The location of the Hotel is half hour out of Kandy and a bit tricky but well worth it for the serenity and the experience and escape from chaotic Kandy and surrounds, we highly recommend to stay a few nights at Elegant Hotel.

The hotel was gorgeous! We were very kindly upgraded from the deluxe room to the presidential suite which was so exciting! The room was huge with an absolutely stunning view. The décor of the room is beautiful and the bed was so comfy. We had a private balcony where you could relax and admire the view. The bathroom was also very spacious and had everything you need. There is a lovely pool which is also located with a beautiful view and so many flowers. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. We were given a welcome drink and the restaurant was great. Really delicious food and great service. Strongly recommend having dinner here one night during your stay!

We stayed here for two nights as a family of four adults. We were fortunate to have our rooms upgraded to the presidential suite and super deluxe. Both rooms were beautiful and spotlessly clean. The view was incredible, with birds and wildlife in abundance. We enjoyed dinner and breakfast here. There was a good selection of food and all freshly prepared. The staff were lovely. Very smiley and obliging. I would definitely recommend this hotel.

My wife and I recently enjoyed an exceptional 8 night stay at the Elegant Hotel, all in terms of the accommodation, staff and stunning views. We stayed in the top floor presidential suite which offers very clean, spacious and comfortable accommodation and which further afforded us all round 360 degree views from our outside private terraces, offering both spectacular sunsets and sunrises. From our private terraces we also enjoyed close observation of eagles, kingfishers, fruit bats and countless other colourful birds and mammals such as the palm squirrel. The location of the hotel enjoys a very peaceful and serene setting surrounded by a combination of stunning jungle and mountain views which we very much enjoyed as we relaxed within the immaculately maintained private garden grounds and very spacious swimming pool. Another major contributor to our exceptional stay were the staff. Headed up by hotel manager Lucky, who looked after our every need within the hotel and in addition, professionaly and personaly arranged all our sightseeing trips providing very comfortable transport and a friendly knowledgeable driver. We dined most nights at the hotel enjoying a variety of freshly prepared excellent local Sri Lankan meals served up with a smile by Roshan and Herath, whom we got to know well and prepared to an exceptional standard by a trio of friendly Sri Lankan chefs, the head chef having gained extensive experience and knowledge while working for many years in Dubai. We attended the live cooking demonstration with the chefs which was both educational and very entertaining. My wife enjoyed an exhilarating massage in the hotel spa which she would very highly recommend. All the staff in this unique, comfortable and cosy boutique hotel are exceptional and all of whom we cannot praise highly enough, from the all smilng reception girls to housekeeping, gardener laundry staff and security guard ( and the hotel peacocks ). We loved our stay with our two children (aged 5 and 2). We had considered staying in Kandy itself, but honestly after the busyness of the city it was lovely to escape to the calm of the Elegant Hotel. The hotel room was spacious enough for the four of us, the views were stunning and the pool was one of the nicest ones we swam in in Sri Lanka. We ate in the hotel and the food was delicious. Honestly, the staff could not have been lovelier - they were very friendly, welcoming and attentive - and we highly recommend this hotel.

After the hectic experience of Kandy, Elegant Hotel is an oasis of calm, set up on a hill away from the city noises and surrounded by stunning views. The pool is set in a lovely garden with rolling hills as a backdrop and we were lucky enough to have it to ourselves. We had the presidential suite which gave us amazing views from both sides. We had dinner at the hotel which was lovely as was breakfast the next morning especially as a table had been set for us outside under the shade of a tree so we could enjoy the views in comfort. Staff were friendly and welcoming and our only negative was that we were only staying there for one night!
