This hotel only has 7 rooms. This means it's really quiet and relaxing but does somewhat limit the offering. There's no bar (but you can order drinks) and meal choices are a bit restricted (particularly breakfast). If you are OK with that then it really is fabulous. The rooms are a decent size and recently decorated to a high standard with quite a bit of character. Even if the food choice is a bit limited, the standard is very high - really delicious curries. The service is great too - one guy looked after us all the time (Dani I think) and he was very friendly and efficient throughout. It's a bit out of the centre of Kandy but it's worth the journey to stay somewhere this pleasant.

We have just stayed at the Clove Villa hotel Kandy for 3 nights . The room was lovely and clean and had everything you needed. The staff were all very helpful and polite. The food was exceptional, the chef prepared the meals with a lot of style and care, the flavours were delicious . Highly recommend this hotel .

We stayed just one night in this small boutique hotel that is slightly away from the centre of Kandy . It is beautifully clean and stylishly designed . Our ground floor room was spacious with a good bathroom and nice linens . Unfortunately because we were the only guests that evening the chef had been given the night off and so we had to go out for supper . The breakfast however was very good . We didn’t use the pool which looked a little on the small side. The manager was delightful and very attentive without getting in the way. It was a great place for an overnight stop but on reflection we thought that it was a little on the expensive side .

We recently had 2 nights at Clove Villa as part of a trip around Sri Lanka and thoroughly recommend it. Danushka was so friendly and helpful and the food from Yohan was absolutely delicious. There is a jackfruit tree in the garden & they made a delicious jackfruit curry for us that night after discussing it. Certainly one of the top in our stay. A lovely calm oasis in Kandy

Lovely small hotel with very accomodating management (we were able to switch after one night to a first floor room with balcony). Rooms are very comfortable despite a surfeit of ornamonts. Swimming pool was fine but it is shaded and the water temperature was too cool for us. The pool table was good fun. We stayed three nights (in retrospect I think two is enough for Kandy) and dined at the hotel each evening. Food was very good which is just as well as there are no alternative options within walking distance (there is a big hotel across the road but they only offered a buffet service) whereas Clove Villa cooked to order.

Wonderful stay in this lovely small boutique hotel. The staff go to great lengths to ensure that everything is just so for you. Food is delicious, we like spice, so the dishes were prepared with extra spice for us. Beer, gin and wine available. The pool is very refreshing and big enough to get some lengths in. Would certainly recommend and visit again if in Kandy.

A small boutique villa in a quiet street, providing an oasis of calm & tranquillity in Kandy. Excellent sized room with all the facilities you could require for a three night stay. View looking over the garden & pool an added bonus. Lots of comfortable plush sofas & seating in the public area adding to the relaxing feel. We ate dinner on all three nights as the incredible quality of the meals was a highlight of the visit. All freshly prepared on pre-order by the chef/patron. Breakfast was also to a very high standard. All staff were competent, efficient and very friendly. A thoroughly enjoyable stay & probably our best in Sri Lanka.

The hotel is cozya and very clean, with quiet rooms and a very relaxing bed. The staff is incredibly friendly, making the stay even more enjoyable. The food was absolutely outstanding—one of the best we had in Sri Lanka! and definitely a highlight of the experience!

Our travel plans changed and, at the last minute, we needed a place to stay in Kandy. How lucky we were to secure the last remaining room at the beautiful, small, luxurious hotel. The first thing that stood out were wonderful staff who were always available and happy to help, first class service. We slept very well in a comfortable bed in our beautifully appointed bedroom which had everything that we could possibly need provided. We thought we had eaten well on our travels in Sri Lanka, but the food here was divine, especially the butter chicken. It was great to be able to relax around the pool away from the hustle and bustle of Kandy. I would give Clove Villa six stars if I could.
