Savoy Westend Hotel

Man muss sagen, das Hotel hat ganz tolle Bilder. Tatsächlich ist alles ganz schön in die Jahre gekommen, der Teppich im Zimmer grenzwertig. Die Kosten für ein Frühstück von 27 € p.P. sind absolut überteuert, so ein normales Frühstück gibt es in jeden anderen Hotel auch.

Very bad experience, absolutely not a 5 star hotel , the hygiene in the clinic is zero , when they do the blood test the nurse hold the needle without gloves and without mask !! The clinic doesn’t offer disposable underwear during the clinic sessions , also they suffer from shortage of staff , the hotel buffet is veereeery small , not a 5 star buffet . Not changing the bed sheets everyday, towels of bathrooms also , they withdraw the whole booking amount on arrival not like other hotels which they block the amount in your credit card and when you leave they charge . The location is very far from the miniral water where we should go three times each day to drink before each meal and , not suitable for old ppl and Many many other things which made my stay doesn’t fit the huge amount i have paid. NOT a 5 stars Hotel . Not recommended at all

Our family decided to add a last-minute visit to Karlovy Vary to our Christmas vacation and had a wonderful time at the Savoy Westend. The buffet was delicious, particularly the breakfast and fruits. The Christmas Dinner was reasonably priced for a resort and had a fantastic range of traditional dishes. Our room was spacious with high ceilings, huge windows and views, and a very nice bathroom. There was plenty of room for the second bed (twin) added to the room for our group of 3. The hotel is a short walk down the hill to the city center; absolutely worth the walk to see more of the architecture, visit the spring locations, and check out the shops. We had no language barrier issues in town or at the hotel. We booked directly through the hotel website and received a complimentary upgrade to a "Deluxe with Balcony" room with views of the Cathedral as well as parking and a spa treatment for each of us. Overall the property was a luxurious way to close out our vacation. Things to note: 1. They are currently accepting only cash or bank transfer from a Czech account. This is clearly stated on their website and at check-in, the nearest ATM is a 25 minute walk (round trip) and did not seem to have a withdrawal limit. 2. The hotel complex is several buildings. We stayed in the Kleopatra building which meant a short walk across the courtyard to breakfast and spas, or a slightly longer walk through the enclosed paths when the weather is poor. Changing in the pool/spa locker rooms felt better than making the walk in a robe. 3. During our stay they had maintenance issues on one of the primary elevators. The staff was very apologetic but they were unable to fix it on the 24th/25th (understandable). This meant there was not a direct access from the Spa back to our Room for part of our stay. I don't think this is worth reducing the rating, but could be a big frustration to some.

The hotel has 5 stars just on booking and website photos… they are nice, but that’s about it. I would give it 3 stars in real life. Rooms are very spacious and well decorated, so we did enjoy this fact. Otherwise it throwed me back into 90ties. Spa and pool area is very outdated and needs to be refreshed to get even 4 stars. Saying that, hotel is highly overpriced. I did expect more for the money I paid.

Pleasantly surprised by the hotel, which is really 4 villas inter joined. Room was spacious and elegant. Large pool, 2 saunas and pools. Room to sit outside in garden. Food was good. Really excellent breakfast buffet and dinner buffet was surprisingly good, though little expensive. Dining room self lacks charm. Very zealous staff who clear everything swiftly. Hotel was quite empty so plenty of room. If full may feel crowded. Parking is a bit expensive but little other choice nearby. Center is 10-15 min walk away. Felt nice to be able to leave the busyness behind, retreating up the hill to the hotel. A treat to stay here, feeling like a fairytale park in the hills.
