Hotel Moonlight

A super, friendly place with a gorgeous outside space in a courtyard setting, for eating and drinking. Across the road is the alleyway entrance to busy, narrow streets with a lot of mopeds, so keep your wits about you! If you see necklace strings of amethyst, jade etc, buy if you want them because you won’t find in India. I regret VERY much not buying brass doorhandles in the shape of a winged goddess. The Stupas are amazing, they really are breathtaking and so busy with people going about their prayerful business. Remember to use your right hand to proffer money as gifts to Gods…tricky when you’re left handed!

Hotel moonlight is a peaceful and beautiful oasis in the busyness of Khatmandu! Lovely spacious and light rooms and incredibly helpful and kind staff like Deepa Basnet who will go out of her way to ensure you have a comfortable and pleasant stay. She is ramro!!!!. So is Susssan who is also very helpful and taught me some Nepali. The food is also amazing and there is a lovely courtyard and rooftop which an incredible view. 10 stars!!

Been coming here for a couple of years & never did a review. But after this year's stay, thought you should know about this place. In the busy Pacnajol/Thamel area of Kathmandu, this is one of many hotels that cater to the throngs of tourists. Once you are inside, the noise and the hustle & bustle slip away and the inner courtyard beckons. Staff is very courteous, pleasant, helpful and efficient. One of the reasons our university team likes it here is a very good wifi connection. The rooms are a bit on the small side, generally, but if they're not too crowded, front desk folks will gladly offer you a bigger room. They are nicely decorated, clean, modern. The beds are comfy for sleeping, but then I am happy to sleep just about anywhere. If you want a nice view of the valley, ask for a room that has a view of the famous Monkey Temple ... Swayambhu. Some of the rooms have small balconies. And ... guess what??? The showers have hot water! Of course the breakfast buffet is special for people like me, but there is something there for everyone. The rooftop deck is super nice for sunrise & sunset, meetings or just hanging out with a book or tablet.

Always a pleasure to stay at Moonlight, the professionalism of the staff and management are impressive, the location is also central to Tamel and the many attractions of Kathmandu. This is the go-to hotel for our team as we travel regularly to Nepal.

Very fantastic services and very cooperative staff they all are giving superb services and room facility is also very good garden is also nice and food quality is also very testy location of hotel is also fine so our experience is fantastic and we all are happy

Excellent stay over here. Staffs are very polite. Kitchen staffs are very polite and very cooperative. Some improvement in tv display is required as sometimes it hangs. Milk powder is required in the room for preparation of tea. Cleanliness is also good
