Avithos Resort Hotel

We have just returned from the best holiday of our lives at Avithos Resort. The resort is beautiful, tranquil, and spotlessly clean. The apartments were immaculate, with excellent housekeeping, and the whole resort felt so well cared for. The staff were outstanding – so friendly, welcoming, and genuinely kind. We especially loved the thoughtful little extras, like the crate of pool toys by the pool for all the children to share, which made the holiday even more family friendly. Kefalonia is simply stunning, and Avithos Resort is the perfect place to stay to enjoy it. The island is wonderfully family-friendly, and the Greek people are so warm and beautiful in spirit. We cannot thank the Avithos team enough for everything – this was truly our dream holiday, and we cannot wait to return.

We booked this hotel looking forward to our stay after reading many positive reviews, but sadly we were left disappointed. The hotel grounds are lovely – beautifully maintained with a stylish layout that is very appealing. However, there were several areas that we felt really let the experience down. Firstly, the food and drinks are extremely overpriced for what they are. The restaurant and bar felt unreasonable, and €7 for a single ice cream cone is just not acceptable. The kitchen setup in our accommodation was also disappointing – we only had two bowls despite there being four of us, and the plates were stored so high up that I couldn’t even reach them. I understand they’re trying to keep the space compact, but it didn’t feel practical. We knew in advance that the location was quiet, so that’s not the hotel’s fault, but as fairly regular visitors to Greece, we found the local restaurants weren’t quite up to the standard we expected. Of course, this is just a personal opinion, but it did affect our overall impression. On a positive note, it was nice that there were inflatables available for children. However, I feel the hotel could improve family facilities by adding a small play area with swings, a slide, or similar – little touches like this go a long way. Unfortunately, we wouldn’t return as we felt the overall experience didn’t match the price we paid.

Just returned from a great stay at Avithos Resort. The apartments were stylish, spotless, and cleaned daily. Fresh towels arrived every three days, including pool towels—which was super handy. Beach towels aren’t provided separately, so it’s worth bringing your own if you're planning to venture out. A real bonus was the respectful vibe at the pool—no sunbed reserving nonsense! Plenty of loungers, umbrellas, and shady spots without the early-morning scramble. So refreshing not to have to be up at the crack of dawn getting sun loungers! If you're up for exploring Kefalonia, I’d definitely recommend hiring a car. It made all the difference for seeing other parts of the island. Espidres, a lovely restaurant just five minutes walk up the road. We ended up going four nights—it was that good. Also loved Sea Salt down at Al Helios beach for relaxed beautiful sea views in the evening. Couple other guests we spoke to ate at Crazy George’s and said it was good. All these were in walking distance. Hotel breakfast seemed steep at €26 for adults and €18 for kids, so we popped to the Sagittarius supermarket nearby and grabbed cereal, fruit, and snacks for DIY breakfasts and picnics. Water is much cheaper there too. For a proper breakfast treat, *Bake Me Happy* down the road had excellent brunch options, pastries and coffee. Recommend packing metal water bottles to keep water cool and we took a lunch cooler backpack with us too for picnics. We did have lunch at the hotel once—pesto pasta was generous and perfect for sharing. The cocktails and beers were spot on too, and the staff were lovely and hardworking throughout. All in all, Avithos Resort gave us a chilled and comfortable base to enjoy Kefalonia. Would happily return.

Beautiful resort and wonderful for families and couples alike. It’s a quiet resort but really close to everything you need. We hired a car directly through the resort and it was really easy and reasonable. The rooms are lovely and kept clean. The breakfast is amazing

10 minute taxi ride from the airport, 10 minute walk from the beach, spotless air-conditioned apartments, large relaxing pool, never too busy, wonderfully helpful staff, great food and drinks. The area is lovely too, with excellent restaurants within walking distance and Argostoli, and its beautiful marina, also just a short drive away Exactly what we were hoping for. Highly recommended.

We had such a good week at this lovely hotel which we couldn't fault. Loved the laid back ambience and attention to detail that was everywhere. Lovely and peaceful apart from the cicadas! Very clean everywhere you went...lovely friendly helpful staff. The village and it's tavernas are easily walkable and so is the beautiful Avithos beach with its beach bar and 2 tavernas which are both really good. Folk night at Lois was good as was Greek night at the Acropolis which we didn't have high hopes for, but it was excellent! Great pool , loads of sunbeds...come and enjoy!
